Editorial Reviews

Limited vinyl LP pressing. 2013 release from this Brooklyn-based outfit led by Chris Snyder, formerly of The States. Yearling was recorded in a converted barn in upstate New York in the spring of 2011. The disc, which Snyder self-produced, features performances by drummer Aaron Steele and guitarist Chris Kuklis and was engineered and mixed by Chris Grainger (Wilco, Switchfoot). The idea was to take ten of the best songs from Snyder's massive collection and imbue them with greater life and augmented instrumentation.

This new album is my favorite new find over at least the last year or two. I would describe the tracks as somewhat other-worldly, fairly varied, and well-executed, musically and technically. "Bronze" is perhaps my favorite, but "Untouched and Arrived" is probably the one that would get the most radio play.

The music is on Spotify, and there are several videos on YouTube if you want to listen first.
