1.0 out of 5 stars Not recommended until they get it right., January 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 50 Years of the Hot Rod (Hardcover)
One would think for a golden anniversary that it would be a pretty important occasion "setting in stone" the illustrious 50-year history of Hot Rod. Unfortunately, what we have here looks like a hack job. Definitely no one bothered to proof read this book before it went to press. On almost every page is a misspelling. It really does not do justice to the history of Hot Rod. For that you should search the swap meets for an old special called The Best of Hot Rod. The layout is also spotty quality. Some pages have lots of great color shots, but then most pages are wasted by double-page spreads or photos that really could have been cropped and another picture or two fitted to the page. Just not enough pictures, especially to do justice to over 600 months of magazines. There are just too many pages wasted that could have fit 2 or 3 more pictures on it. Quite possibly one of the biggest omissions of all was they left out a photo of every cover. Absolutely unforgivable that the covers were not included. Not recommended until they get it right.

Dad built these things from the ground up during his lifetime. He enjoyed receiving this book for Christmas.
