Great book, it is a nice glimpse into the past. A plethra of information on cover dogs that graced the cover of one of the most respected magazines dedicated to those that scratched across the line. A must buy for any serious fancier & Dogman of GAMEDOGS!

An outstanding relic of American Pit Bull Terrier game dog development in the late 20th century, back in the day when working and performance animals such as horses, greyhounds, American Racing Homing Pigeons, hunting n herding dogs, etc. weren't under attack by fanatic groups such as PETA, ALF (Animal Liberation Front) & similar "humaniacs" who began imposing their moral views on America by quietly trying to slip through legislation in various states to make it almost impossible to keep livestock anymore. In PA, for example, they announced basically that all dogs are pets and family members, and are pushing ridiculous and downright dangerous, unsafe and very detailed laws through the legislature to assert their moral views and force compliance onto the rest of us normal, practical folks. They are being allowed to terrorize animal care givers, never knowing when they will be the next target of these fanatics. For example, they propose that animals should be kept indoors in cold weather, that it be made illegal to tie them outdoors on a chain (the safest system used for centuries), but rather on a rope at least 12 feet long, and no more than one inch in diameter. Clearly they're not country folks, but armchair experts in the big cities, asserting their standards on society by tasking our government to micro-manage, fine and even jail those not in compliance with their new laws. Any sensible person knows that horses and dogs can easily chew through any rope, but not chain, and once loose could run out on the road n get killed as well as cause fatalities.Read more ›
