The Greatest hits of KBW on 2 discs`,
By Micheal Hunt (Hellbourne) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 20 Years of Kev (Audio CD)
For over 20 years Kevin Bloody Wilson has been one of the top Australian comedians to emerge from down under. His raunchy lyrics, dirty words and humorous story's have made him a legend in the comedy scene in Australia. IMO him and Rodney Rude are the 2 best comedians in the world.
Like any greatest hit's album, there is always tracks you would like to have had included, but oh well, it's done now, no point in complaining. If you already own Kevs albums with these songs on it, there's not really any point to buying this. But it does come with a bonus live CD. However, a few of those tracks from the Bonus CD are just from a recent live album, "Let Loose Live in the Outback" and "Let Loose Live in Ireland"(DVD) I'd recommend this album to any fan who just cant get enough of Kev. But I'd recommend it more for those of you who have not got a Kev album, or dont know who he is? On disc 1 there is 20 of Kevs best recordings. 1. I gave up Wanking - The song that I think all of us blokes are guilty of, and Kev brilliantly knows exactly how to tell it. 2. Festival of life - It is true, it is true, how many of us are annoyed by the Mormons knocking on our doors in the morning trying to convert everyone? 3. Kevs Courtin' song - Kev gives his tips on how to approach women, and what to say as a pick up line, guaranteed to work all of the time :-D 4. Mick Me Mate The Master Farter - The story about Kevs old school mate who had a special talent, and how it was eventually used to win gold for Australia!!! 5. The pubic hair song - if any one has ever wondered why people around the world have different accents, then Kev has the anser for you in this song. 6. Hey Santa Claus - Probably Kevs best well known song, the classic sing along about Kev's kids and how they didnt get what they wanted for Christmas, so there telling santa about it! 7. Dictaphone - Defiantly one of the best Kev songs there is. About a speech impediment man who wants to ring the operator to find out a number, and she makes fun of the situation, and all hell breaks loose between him and the phone company. 8. It was over - This is a parody song of an old tune. I just cant think of what the heck the original is called, but this song is about Kevs first date, he was trying to get laid, but unsuccessfully. 9. Manual the bandito - I nice story about a Mexican man telling his story about how him and the biggest and baddest outlaw in Mexico is a good friend of his, and why. 10. The kid, he swears a little bit - The story about a young boy from the bush's first day at school. 11. Supa Mega Fugly - My favorite. You have to hear this to know how funny it is to hear Kev singing a song about bagging some woman. 12. Double Decker Dog - I'm not sure why this is one of the greatest hits? I thought it was ok, but average. But it's about a little kid running home to tell his mum about a double decker dog he saw outside. Cause he;s a bit too young to realize what exactly it was! 13. The Featherbrain Championship - about 2 blokes the size of buffalo's, big but not too bright, and they get into a fight at the bar. 14. Olie & Olga - the greatest yodeling song ever written I reckon. About a mountin climber and his cheating wife who get's knocked up eventually. 15. The Builder - If you think it would be ok to let your kids hang around the building sites, then this song might make you think twice. 16. Me **** just dialed ya number - This is a great love song. Guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye :-D about listening to a couple on the phone and what there talking about. It really is such a sweet song! :D 17. Shes the sort of sheila - I'd like to know what Kev's wife thinks of this song?? 18. Granddads got a bone - I dunno why this was put on there, i don't think its one of Kev's best at all. The title pretty much says it all. 19 - Hello John - Another one I didn't think was worthy, just about ringing a radio personality on the air and swearing. 20. The Local - All you small town people are guaranteed to laugh about this one. It's right on the money! There are a few song's that I think shouldve been included that weren't, but some of them appear on the bonus live CD, so it's ok with me. The bonus CD. 1. Bali Belly Song - I think a lot of us can relate to this song. 2. That F'n Cats Back - One of the true greats of Kevs material, just as well he included it here in the bonus CD, other wise i'd dismissed the album and rated the whole thing 1, you don't have a Kev show without this song! 3. She's a goodin' - It's a nice sweet love song for some bahhhhd boys. 4. Nigel Talk about - couple of different bit's about his mate Nigel Nunga Nunga Steen (Stewart) 5. D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F - Do you know what DILLIGAF means? You'll have to listen to the song to find out wont ya! 6. Absolute **** Of a Day - I reckon everyone of us has thought like this quite often. 7. Cant Say **** In Canada - Funny, Funny, Funny ong about not being able to say the C word in Canada. 8. New Christmas Song - For a new song, he's been singing it for a while! But doesnt matter, it's kevs typical Christmas humour with audience partiticpation. 9. The brown-eye melody - A mix of jokes, with "Chucka Brown Eye For Australia" Kevs Olympic song, and "Chucka Browneye" Kev's parody of the hokey poky. 10. The bonus track "Rootin in the back of the ute" dunno why it's a bonus track, theirs only one issue of this album and this bonus track is on it! but anyway, it's a rock n roll cover of Kevs preformed by Dave Gleeson and the Stilsons) it's not a bad cover! 10. Living next door to Allen - For anyone who doesn't know who Allen Bond is, it probably wont make much sense, but it is one of Kev's best known songs. well, that's one on the 2 CD's, the booklet has some words to 2 or 3 songs, some pics n stuff, a letter from Kev.... however I do not like that it comes in one of those cardboard flip out holder thing's, whose idea was it to sell CD's in those? Read on if you care about what I think shouldve been included, other wise click away about now... It would've been even better if it came with a few songs I think shouldve been here: MISSING: "Born again **** tank" "Cumchin my guwlfwend" "country Bumpkin" Stack the fridge" "you can never find one when you need one" "amazing grass" "flowers"..eh, bugger it, what Kev needs to do is release a box set with all his albums in it and extras, yeah, that would be a greatest hit's collection worth buying any time at all!

The Ultimate Kevin Bloody Wilson Training CD, mate,
By
This review is from: 20 Years of Kev (Audio CD)
I bought this CD in a little town near Grampians National Park in western Victoria. The person running the store said "I'm glad you Yanks appreciate Aussie humour, mate" when I asked if she had any of Kev's CDs. Eventually I purchased 7 of his CD's in Australia, and "20 Years of Kev" is by far the best (not to say that the others aren't bonzer also). I drove around Australia for 3 weeks playing this CD over and over again. In many small towns I'd have some Aussie give me the thumbs up when I drove past with this CD blaring. Any serious Kev fan has no doubt heard all the tracks on this 20th anniversary CD, yet nothing beats singing along to "Chuck A Browneye For Australia" while driving in Kev's countryside. I'm sitting in an apartment in suburban Washington DC right now listening to that song and remembering the greatness of Australia while laughing my ass off, mate. If you are new to Kev, get this CD as a training tool. If you are a long time Kev fan, buy it and get ready to chuck a browneye with him.

This CD was well worth the cost. I will order many more of Kevin's CDs.
