This seemed such a great buy but when it arrived I was disappointed in what seemed to be the flimsy and poor quality catch. I rarely return anything, but knew I would not be comfortable wearing this -- it just looked cheap -- and did return it.

Like many who buy jewelry, I am not an expert. I bought this for my mom for Christmas and wasn't sure what to expect. The pearls came in a little plastic bag within a round pink box topped with tiny little seed pearls. It's a pretty presentation.

I took the pearls out to make sure I wasn't giving something very obviously shoddy. I mean if there were gouges in the pearls or the pearls were very oddly shaped or the sizes were very different or something of the sort, my untrained eye can see that much.

It's a short strand, not choker length, but it's clearly short. The pearls are not huge, but they do not look too small. They look evenly sized, very well matched up in that respect.

The pearls did not have many markings, which I thought were light, and I did have to look for them. The shape was round. Some were just very slightly off, but I really had to look. Just from a glance, I don't think anyone is going to notice at all that they are not perfect.

The color is not quite as brilliantly white as in the photo online. I think it is more cream-rose as they say. What struck me is the soft glow from the reflection of the light in my room. That was very pretty. I think my mom will like these.

I was amazed when I looked at this wonderful purchase. It is for my Mother ... a birthday or Christmas gift for December 2009. She will love it. The pearls have a lovely, creamy glow ... It's a lovely gift and so much better quality than I imagined they would be ... Instead of sending it in a little bag, it was sent in a gorgeous round box that appears to be made from silk .. a lovely shade of pink and the box is decorated with little seed pearls on the top. Needless to say, I am extremely pleased.

When I received it I was pretty surprised with the size of this necklace. It's just what my wife likes not too small to be cheap looking and not to big to be vulgar. It looks expensive, I would say noble. My wife just loves it!

I didn't expect to see the pearls off the Queen of Englands necklace but what I got was totally acceptable for what I paid. I think this necklace is of very good quality pearls, placed in a nice gift box. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from this vendor again. They were shipped quickly, packaged well and everything was done very smoothly.

I purchased this necklace as a surprise gift for my fiance. It's shorter than I thought it would be but it's not choker length either. At first glance, the pearls are of a decent size, all are pretty uniform in size and they have a nice luster/sheen to them. Of course, looking very closely you can begin to identify the flaws but for the price, I thought this was a great purchase. Needless to say, so did my fiance, she absolutely loved the necklace! I couldn't give this particular item a 5-star rating because they are not perfect but it certainly deserves it's 4-star rating!

yes before u read this i wanna make sure that i say am no expert with pearls infact i brought this for my mom. the only thing i kinda noticed and did not like about is since these are fresh water, they are not perfectly shaped.
some are oval, some are round adn they are all not of the same size.
so if you know these flaws that are present on fresh water pearls you are good to go.. also they were a bit bigger in size than the normal pearl necklaces am used to see.

other than these its probably a good necklace.. but i did not like it i returned it and bought another one from amazon for my mom which were akoya pearls more expensive but worth it..

It is not the quality that I did not like. The pearls are too big. The pearl box is feminine. I love pearls, but I am not a connoisure yet. When you see that the pearl is 9-10mm, that is big. I did not understand the size of the pearl. If that is alright with you, then this necklace is for you.
