I received this for my 1st Mother's Day. My son was born in March, so the aquamarine is his birthstone. While tiny, the pendant is very pretty and stones' color is great. The chain does appear to be thin, however, it is very sturdy. My son, who is now 6 months old, has liked to hold and tug on the chain since I put it on. I was very concerned initially, but the chain seems to be able to take a lot of punishment.

We bought this necklace for my mother-in-law. I knew Aquamarine was her birthstone and noticed she didn't really have any "nice" jewelery. The quality is good and it's not gawdy or flashy or anything. It's very simple, yet elegant; from far away it just looks like a heart, but up close you see the mother holding the baby. This allows it to be worn with anything for any occassion. It makes a nice, sentimental gift for any mother. I'm pleased with the necklace and I'm pretty sure my mother-in-law is too.

Purchased this pendant for my mother for her birthday and like most other pendants, it is just that a pendant that comes with a very, very thin chain. You really need to buy another, more substantial chain to ensure that it doesn't get lost.
