Los Angeles, 2012. Corporate America has all but taken over the government. Men and women work to exhaustion to meet the demands of their jobs- crime and street riots have become everyday realities. The only relief is found in the burgeoning street traffic of constantly changing designer drugs, derma-patches that bring relaxation and release from pain. Jonathan Marlow, ex-pro football player, is haunted by an act of cowardice that destroyed his career, his reputation and his life. He is wracked by physical pain and guilt and seeks relief and release in the world of designer drugs. He becomes addicted to a powerful hallucinogen called Hoddentin or "The Yellow Earth". Hoddentin is so new to the market its properties and side effects are unknown. As his need for the drug grows, Jonathan is compelled to travel south through Arizona and deep into Mexico to find more of what he craves. But the drug has effects he didn't count on, it will force him to face what he has buried deepest- his past.

About the Author
Kevin Conder holds a degree in philosophy from the University of California and a Masters of Fine Arts in English from the University of Arizona. He lived in Stockholm for nine years and presently resides in Portland with his swedish wife, Karin, and their Jack Russell Terrier. His first novel, Watchman was published in Sweden in 1993. Kevin is employed as an IT consultant and helps develop some of the most prominent websites in the northwest.
