3.0 out of 5 stars Yellow Eyes a different story April 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Great story idea! This is not a rehash of run-of-the-mill subject matter. I found it hard to put down. My only negative is the grammar, syntax spelling and left out words. It sometimes feels as though English is a second language for this author. But don't let that stop you from reading this story. I look forward to future books.

4.0 out of 5 stars good, quick read! January 27, 2012

I just finished Yellow Eyes and I enjoyed every second of it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a new author or a quick, fun, easy read. It has enough twist and turns to keep you interested and the thoughts that Katrina has in the book make it easy to identify with a woman in danger, thus making it easy to put yourself in the book as the main character. I just love a book that allows me to feel the action!

Yellow Eyes kept me on the edge of my seat, flipping the pages. What a mystery creatively chilling and suspenseful. This book draws the reader from the very first page. Keep up the good work.

Yellow Eyes was attention grabbing from the very beginning. The twists and turns constantly had me wondering what would happen next. I'm looking forward to finding out what The Guardian does next.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good ideas, iffy execution. February 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I liked how the story began, and the plot and its progression. However, the grammar and writing leave a lot to be desired. By about a quarter of the way through, I was struggling to keep my initial interest and halfway through I just couldn't read anymore and deleted it off my device and history. Others may find the story enjoyable but overall for me, the writing style was just too pedantic and the errors just made me lose interest altogether.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yellow Eyes October 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Katrina is a student who lives with one of her best friends in a relatively safe area, so they thought anyway. Soon Katrina's biggest worry is not whether or not her big papers are getting done on time, but whether or not she will survive to write her next paper period. Katrina's nightmare starts when she wakes up out of a dead sleep and hears noises in their apartment that alert her to a burglary taking place. Worried for her safety she grabs her phone and slips out the window onto the fire escape. From there she calls 911 for the burglary, but soon it is a call for a fire too, for she smells smoke and when she looks into it a bit further finds their apartment on fire. All Katrina can think is how she is glad her roommate is not home and not in any danger. Soon the police bring horrible new to Katrina about something found in their apartment and her life goes into a whirlwind of action. Will Katrina survive to see who was trying to rob and burn their apartment? Will she ever get over the shock of what they found in her apartment? Is someone after her? Is she safe?

This book is hard for me to review without giving away a ton of spoilers to future readers. So, I will keep it simple and maybe not as in depth as I normally would. The writing of this book was great, it was very vivid and kept me on my reading toes. It was a very action packed book that's for sure; a ton of thing happened in this shorter book, but they flow and don't seem overwhelming at all to the reader. I was hooked and couldn't put this book down after the first chapter. The characters were nothing to sneeze at either! They were so well described that you really got to know them as you read. I loved Katrina and the Guardian the best I think.

I really enjoyed this book so much that I went and purchased the other 2. Its the sort of storyline that leaves you with OMG look. I would recommend the book to everyone. I like the flow of the story and how the author put everything in detail. This is a new author to me and thus far, I have enjoyed reading it. You have done a great job with this such that it has truely kept me interested in knowing what the outcome would be.

3.0 out of 5 stars so far reasonable, but editing needed desperately!!
It was ok, flowed pretty well. It's really a couple of long chapters, a preview to more books, so you won't feel satisfied with this. But the typos and misspellings really irk. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Poor editing
I thought the story was interesting but the missed grammar problems became a big distraction. I would probably read more books by this author and at least give it another try.

More About the Author

I have been writing since I was in elementary school. My early writings consisted of poems and short stories. During my fifth grade year, I had this wonderful teacher named Mr. Dooley who really expanded my creative abilities with the stories we were required to write using vocabulary words. As I got older I didn't have the time and soon stopped writing. Yellow Eyes is my first attempt at writing after about 18 years of inactivity.
I am a graduate of the Univ. of Illinois at Chicago. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Mississippi. I work full time while I am completing my degree, so it may take longer for the sequels to my books to come out. Thanks for your support and I look forward to getting '"Menacing Eyes" out to my fans before summer arrives.
