I ordered a set as a present for my wife. When they arrived, one of the mounts had separated from the stone. When I examined them, I noted that the mounting holes were improperly drilled and the gold wires hadn't been bent properly to hold the stone. The stones were of good quality but hadn't been polished and appeared dull.
Both of these faults are correctable but I strongly suggest you carefully examine the earrings before you give them as a gift.

I purchased these about a yr. ago. The 1st pair I received were of 2 obvious different sizes and Amazon promptly replaced them w/ a perfect 2nd pair. I instructed customer service to request the warehouse inspect them before they were shipped out and included this same request on my returned earrings. I also purchased the matching necklace which I like a lot and have received numerous compliments. I think I must have received a better quality than the first reviewer as the cut and polished stones do not have any noticeable flaws and the holes were drilled fine. Now if I were a jeweler I might think differently, but w/ the additional 30% discounted price I am quite pleased. I recently lost an earring so I'm back today to get another pair-I just hope they will be the same size as the one remaining.

These earrings were exactly what I was looking for as a "stocking stuffer" for my wife for Christmas. The quality is excellent. They are generously sized and the quality of the Onyx is excellent. The price at which they were available (on sale) was excellent and the service was outstanding; the item arrived within a few days of the order being placed.
