5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Indoor Flyer

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointed
Very disappointed. Never did get it to fly right and I am a retired aeronautical engineer and current radio-controlled airplane builder/flyer.

I have been looking for a good indoor flyer with reasonable flight time for a while now. I have bought and flown several products. In most cases, I was quite disappointed.

Most RC planes advertised as indoor flyers, in fact, cannot be flown in the confine of your home. They require a fairly large open area to fly safely, more like a gym. Their minimal air speed is also way too high in order to fly safely in the confine of your home. This product from Silverlit is different in those respects. You can in fact fly this plane quite easily in your home. And with more than 5 minutes of flight time per charge, it is definitely among the top in door flyers. Its price is quite reasonable. There are better products (such as Megatech Avion Bi-plane) but they cost more, sometimes significantly more.

Though the flyer can take on many crashes, it is not exactly a durable toy. The styrofoam does crack and chip but it can be easily repaired with tapes and glue. If you are looking for an RC plane that you can fly in your home, buy this plane. You won't regret it.

Loads of fun! It is surprising how much control you have over the flight. Much better than all those sad indoor helicopters that aren't fully functional. Durable and well worth it! HINT: Use scotch tape on wings to add ballast and use a piece on the rudder to extend it and make it more effective.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun in an easy-going office, August 25, 2009

The guys in my office have crashed this plane numerous times with no significant damage. It takes a bit of practice to fly but is much easier than my old mosquito helicopter. It tends to steer to one side so it will fly in circles if you don't touch the controls. To straighten it out, just bend the styrofoam piece which overhangs the rudder. Only thing I'd like to see improved is that it is a little noisy.
