5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent cord for heavy commercial use
I have owned and own several Woods "Yellow Jacket" extension cords. I purchased this one to replace a stolen one. They're popular with thieves too! Its well-constructed plug and socket separate it from the look-alike cords. The Woods cord is well worth the extra money. Also, it doesn't get stiff in cold weather. If you are using this for a weed whacker or leaf blower...

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better
This is a heavy-duty cord, but after several months of use the yellow outer insulation is beginning to slip away from the plugs exposing a fibrous inner material. The cord has not been pulled by the plug, so I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

Its well-constructed plug and socket separate it from the look-alike cords. The Woods cord is well worth the extra money. Also, it doesn't get stiff in cold weather. If you are using this for a weed whacker or leaf blower only, you can get by with the Woods 12/3 cord for about half the price. If you are running an air compressor or anything that has a high current requirement, a 100' 12/3 cord just isn't enough - get this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Envy on the job site, August 11, 2011
I am a carpenter by trade but I also have a home shop. I got an old Rockwell contactor saw for free and set it in my garage (which is 30 ft from the house). Unfortunatly the garage was originally wired on common house wire to one 15 amp breaker. So 15 amp saw, 14 gauge wire, under load...you do the math. It was either redoing the entire wiring setup in the garage or find a cheap simple solution. I found a cheap simple solution, this cord, I could run it 40 ft to a 20 amp circut in the kitchen, to the garage and my saw works like a dream. That was what I BOUGHT IT FOR. I took it on site a few times now everybody wants to use it. It's better than anything my employer owns, it's the first thing my co-workers mention on monday, "hey can you run you're cord up to the second floor I need to run the table saw" They snicker at how much I paid for it but the use and envy is proof enough. Not only would I buy it again I need to buy another to keep it at home!

Aloha, generaly speeking the retailers in Hawaii will only stock items that are of the average grade.I find that from time to time that even after the high cost of shipping that it is worth shelling-out the extra bucks for a Top of the Line, and this power cord is proof of that theory. Warning my building contractor keeps trying to use my cord now so better that you buy two!

5.0 out of 5 stars great stuff, September 20, 2011

Almost all my tools, snow thrower, chain saw etc are electric powered. I became tired of buying cord sizes required for each specific tool. This one takes anything I use. Great stuff to have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great extension cord - lifetime warranty still good on all their cords, August 12, 2011
By
CDA (Binghamton, NY USA) - See all my reviews
I've used their cords for many years now, and never had a problem with quality. I just now boxed up to send back to Coleman a 50 foot 10/3 Yellow Jacket cord that the female end melted (my fault). Earlier this week I had called them to make sure the exchange warranty was still valid, and their rep said yes, and told me where to go on their web site to download a pdf form to fill out and send back to them for replacement of the cord. Their cords are very flexible in cold weather. LED lighted plug end, helps you to know if you have power at the female end before plugging in to it. All in all a worthwhile purchase, if you want quality.

Here's their number if you want to double check on the warranty: 1-800-323-9355

I had put in the URL for Coleman Cable's page to download their pdf return form, but it looks like Amazon won't allow web links that will take you away from their site. So, just cut and paste in a google search:

coleman cable Yellow Jacket Warranty Claim Form

and the first link should be the pdf form you will need to get your cord replaced. The search works for me.

I am in no way connected with the company. I just use them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great cords for outdoor power tools, April 25, 2011

I purchased an electric snow blower and needed to make sure the power cords I got would be sufficient to carry the power load over a driveway about 150' so I got 2 of this cord and am well satisfied. The only problem I had with this cord is that the end of the cord was too large to go inside the plug in connector to the actual snow blower so I had to purchase a heavy duty connector to make this fit. Otherwise, I am well pleased with my purchase. Would love to get a 25' cord of this gauge and brand.

3.0 out of 5 stars warranty not good anymore, June 22, 2011
This review is from: Yellow Jacket 2806 10/3 Heavy-Duty 15-Amp SJTW Contractor Extension Cord with Lighted End, 100-Feet (Tools & Home Improvement)
I own several yellow jacket cords. They were purchased with a lifetime full exchange warranty. I just called coleman ( the new owner of the brand ) and they dont have a lifetime warranty any more on new or existing cords. So I would think before spending a lot of money on a cord that has no special warranty anymore. just be aware. I think the product is good, but the value for me was the lifetime warranty. No longer applies..
