Genius of composition, execution, and vision still stands the test of time. It's probably one of the most influental electronic disco records of all time. I bought it back in 1978, and it still gets played. Every DJ should know this record.

Great music. I am just happy that it came in the cd format because I wore out the original vinyl.

The starting point of the YMO's brilliant success. Although this is a synthpop album including the sound of computer games anywhere, you can feel the flavour of the oriental music. Firecracker, Cosmic surfin, Tong Poo, and La Femme Chinoise are quite nice. In 2001, Firecracker was sampled by "I'm real" included in the album "J LO" by Jennifer Lopez although Maria Carry originally supposed to sample it.

I REMEMBER LISTENING 2 FIRECRACKER AS A KID AT THE LOCAL SKATING RINK,,,, & LOVED IT,,,,,DON'T HEAR IT MUCH ON THE RADIO THESE DAYS,,,, SO I SEARCHED 4 IT ONLINE & ONLY FOUND THE ALBUM VERSION,,,,,,BROUGHT IT 4 SENTIMENTIAL REASONS UNTILL THAT WAS'NT GOOD ENOUGH,,, FOUND C.D VERSION & IT'S THE ONLY 1 IN MY C.D PLAYER THAT NEVER GETS TAKEN OUT...... THEY GRANDFATHERED NEW WAVE & TECHNO MUSIC SO GIVE THEM THEIR CREDIT!!!!!!!!! NOW...................

I first heard of YMO when a friend played this album on a long car trip. It was my first taste of electronic music and I was hooked. It has been a long time since I had heard this album, but when I received it, it brought me right back to that car trip and I found it as good now as I did then. I think this is a must have album for anyone interested in good electronic music. It has a bit of a japanese taste, but that's one of the things I like about it. La Femme Chinoise (The Chinese Girl) is one of my favorites.

does anyone know where i can find the music videos on dvd for these songs? I cant seem to find them anywhere i must not be looking in te right place.

This is an electronic pop band, a debut album of a yellow magic orchestra. In 1978, there were few musicians who made music with computer control in the world . YMO introduced a computer for music that was still released for a recording process in those days into boldness and created such masterpieces. However, though YMO makes music, a true reason does not say instead because it merely lacked hands, and the reason is because YMO is opposed to the strong sense of rhythm that a black musician has in what it does not possibly match, and it was going to use power of a machine. As a result, it may be said that it is irony of the history that music of YMO had a great influence on black music of the present age. This record made use of an echo by re-mixture by Al Schmitt; is easy to hear it; is finished, but this is not the thing which aimed at of YMO.
