Kimberly M. Hood epitomizes the essence of honor, bravery and righteousness in so many important ways. Kimberly has served her country in the military, an honor that needs no encore because it asks for no applause; yet Kimberly served in other dramatic ways that went far beyond the call of duty; which has earned her the marks of distinction and merit. Anyone who dedicates their life to others, and cares for her fellow man and lives an altruistic life is a model citizen to behold: Kimberly is such a person. However, when one is confronted with the unimaginable, like the oppressors weight of injustice that is designed to crush the human spirit as in the case of Kimberly when she was taken captive during a tour of military duty overseas: she withstood that which could not be withstood. Moreover, when bitterness would ordinarily invade the void of an emptied soul Kimberly saw the good behind the veil of evil and retained her spirit of love and shared it without reservation - thereby enspiriting those who could not be enspirited. Kim M. Hood is a U.S. Army Veteran who has become a full-time writer. This is the first book in a series of short stories about her life experiences. Once a decorated soldier, she was medically released from the military during the early 1990's after an eardrum condition worsened. Back into the workforce at a U.S. Post Office, enjoying work and living life to the fullest things were great. In less than 3 years after getting out of the military she was inadvertently caught up in a drug smuggling ring and incarcerated in a foreign prison. National Geographic Channel recently produced a documentary about her saga with several airings. The story is also available to view on YouTube.
