Product Description

This collection of 6 CD’s features Tony Orlando & Dawn’s entire recorded history as a group from 1970 - 1977. Available for the first time ever on CD, the set not only includes all of their classic Bell and Elektra albums, but also songs that were issued only as singles and b-sides – plus some other rarities! Each original title contains bonus tracks and all of the music has been digitally remastered for this release.

Highlights include their #1 hits Knock Three Times, Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree and He Don’t Love You (Like I Love You.) Plus all of the other Top-40 hits, like Candida, Say Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose, Who’s in the Strawberry Patch With Sally, Steppin’ Out (Gonna Boogie Tonight,) Look In My Eyes Pretty Woman, Skybird, Mornin’ Beautiful, Cupid, Midnight Love Affair, Sing and many more. These songs hold a significant place in pop music history – and in the hearts of millions who loved them. Meticulously produced and offering a diverse mix of 70’s pop, ragtime and soul, this is definitely a must-have for any pop music collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars the Ultimate Collection, October 27, 2005
This review is from: Yellow Ribbon Collection (Audio CD)
there have been a few greatest hits cds over the years but none of them have come close to capturing the essence of TONY ORLANDO AND DAWN, <Telma Hopkins,Joyce Vincent and Pam Vincent>. One way or another ,on every hits collection some of the groups best tracks get left off, usually the electra catalogue, but now ,all the songs are here, every song, every hit, every b side..... Needless to say this set is long overdue! I would have thought that Arista would have issued a set along ago,... especially during the groups 1988 reunion tour.AS a matter of fact ,a tour that was so successful that it started as a 5 week run and lasted 4 years! But,the fans would have to wait until 2005 to get this box set.now of course there is a big difference here listening to these tracks on cd for the first time rather than my old record player>i am hearing sounds that i never heard before. I dont think the group really got its just dues, mostly because the group never escaped their teeny bopper image but when they did ,it was that of a tv group .....and tony was never one to do his own PR! Case in point, when MIDNIGHT LOVE AFFAIR was released in 1976,the group never performed it live ,..never! the song did reach #15 ac, but. in the pop world the song was overlooked. If you want just the singles, pick up THE ESSENTIAL COLLECTION,but if you want a more in depth overview of the groups career, you need to check out this collection.this cd set is proof that these three entertainers where 3 of the best.one of the top 70s groups with over 40 million records and 4 gold lps and 2 platinum.not bad for a tv group!this set shows they where much more. MY only fault with this collection was in some of the liner notes.i did expect a little more in depth info on some of the records and lp tracks but none was given>????there are plenty to listen to including rare tracks such as SPARK OF LOVE IS KINDLIN, and the groups last single SING.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll be suprised how much you missed this music., October 2, 2005
This review is from: Yellow Ribbon Collection (Audio CD)
OK - maybe I'm stuck in the 70's..... but this is a terrific collection of songs that will bring back a lot of memories. After hearing many Tony Orlando and Dawn songs on the 70's station on XM Radio I realized how much I liked a lot of their work - and this collection has it all. You'll be shocked and pleased to discover how many hits they had that you had forgotten about - and all really "feel good" music.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Collection, November 13, 2005

for the ultimate fan. Do you know how crazy it was to anticipate this? How insane it was to see it in the stores and how giddy with excitement I was to finally bring it home? I have waited, prayed and wrote in so many times to have these released and then they go and do it in a BIG WAY. The packaging, the mastering and the bonus tracks. I can't thank the powers that be, enough. If you don't own this, you need to tie a yellow ribbon around your neck and tighten it until you remember to go pick it up or better yet, ask Santa to place it under your tree. Matter of fact, get EVERYTHING by them, this collection, the Christmas CD and the DVD boxed set. You'll be glad you did.
