This review is from: The Yellow Sock: An Adoption Story (Kindle Edition)
This was a moving account of a couple's struggle with infertility, and ultimately their decision to adopt. The novel allows you inside the head of both the wife and the husband. This is nice because you see the internal struggles of both characters. The novel takes you on the journey as they come to terms with the fact that they will not have biological children. Then you see their decision to start the adoption process. Initially they choose to adopt an older child through a state agency, but eventually they choose to go the international adoption route.

This is an excellent book for anyone considering adoption. Or for a family member or friend of a couple who is adopting. It gives you excellent insight into the emotions involved as well as giving you a picture of the actual process of adoption.

2.0 out of 5 stars Short comment about The yellow sock, September 5, 2009

The beginning is a lil' bit surprising, actually the real book starts afetr the first chapter. And it lacks interest as you're approaching the end. It becomes repetitive and way too much religious for my taste. The waiting part is tiresome and the end is way too fast, you want to know more about the new life Danielle Li is about to start and you cannot care less about the precedent pages detailing you the same waiting, day in and day out. The price is ok, but I don't think I'm going to read it again. Making a bad joke, I would say that "The yellow sock" sucks in many way.

More About the Author

Christy-Award winner Angela Hunt writes for readers who have learned to expect the unexpected in novels from this versatile author. With nearly four million copies of her books sold worldwide, she is the best-selling author of more than 100 works ranging from picture books (The Tale of Three Trees) to novels.

Now that her two children have reached their twenties, Angie and her youth-pastor husband live in Florida with Very Big Dogs (a direct result of watching Sandlot too many times). This affinity for mastiffs has not been without its rewards--one of their dogs was featured on Live with Regis and Kelly as the second-largest canine in America. Their dog received this dubious honor after an all-expenses-paid trip to Manhattan for the dog and the Hunts, complete with VIP air travel and a stretch limo in which they toured New York City. Afterward, the dog gave out paw-tographs at the airport.

When she's not home writing, Angie often travels to teach writing workshops at schools and writers' conferences. And to talk about her dogs, of course.

Readers may visit her web site at www.angelahuntbooks.com and write her at Angie@angelaelwellhunt.com.
