About the Author

I never thought I'd be a writer, much less publish a book someday. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I guess life just had other plans for me. When my husband and I decided to start a family, vet school pretty much went out the window. I used to work with a vet who had three children while going through vet school. To this day, she is my hero. Three years ago, I began writing a story that, for whatever reason, was stuck in my head for almost a year. I have been an avid romance reader for a long time, and the idea took hold to - why not? - write my own! It has been a long and difficult journey and learning experience from my first sentence to a completed, and hopefully polished, manuscript. The story, titled Yellowstone Heart Song, is set in the Rocky Mountain region which today encompasses Yellowstone National Park. It takes place decades before the area was even known to white men, a time just after Lewis and Clark, before the mountain man era was in full swing. The story has turned into the Yellowstone Romance Series. Book 2, titled Yellowstone Redemption, was released soon after Book 1. The third, titled Yellowstone Awakening, was released on March 1st, 2012, and Yellowstone Dawn was released on April 17th. The final book in the series, is titled Yellowstone Deception, and released on July 11, 2012. My newest venture is a time travel romance series, which I am calling Second Chances. The first title, Come Home to Me, just released on October 17, 2012. I am also working on a historical romance trilogy, called the Teton Romance Trilogy. This is the kind of book I have looked for but can rarely find. The story and characters stayed with me long after I closed the final page.

Aimee's love and curiosity for the Yellowstone area generate additional attention to a weary, hospital patient. Not only does the man provide this nurse entertaining stories, he offers her the opportunity to experience her favorite vacation spot as it was originally designed. He will send her into the past. He has no fear for her safety. His son is there. He gives her directions to his homestead and strict orders to not tell his son "when" she is from. Thinking the offer is part of the old man's charm, Aimee plays along, only to discover she is in the middle of the Yellowstone forest that is unlike any brochure she has ever seen. Bison still roam wild and Indians are not on reservations. So why is a handsome, white man perfectly at ease living among both of these natives?

Daniel can't leave a city woman to fend for herself, especially when he finds her on a cliff ledge with numerous injuries. His Indian, half brother doesn't help things when he continues to remind Daniel that by taking the woman to his home, he is agreeing to marry her.

Three months is a long time to wait to return to a world of modern conveniences. Three months alone with Daniel is worth the wait. When Aimee is forced into a decision she isn't willing to make, Daniel learns the reason for her secrets. He must now decide if he is willing to accept her deception or risk a life without her.

Yellowstone Heart Song is a book that hooked my attention from the first sentence and kept me riveted until the final word. Ms Henderson's skill at bringing to life a world so remote left this "roughing it means, no room service" girl anxious to don hiking boots and set out for the wilds. She paints the setting with wide brushstrokes while bringing attention to fine details. Aimee and Daniel are perfectly paired, making them relatable and immediately likable.

I am so thrilled this is the first book in a series. I can't wait for the next installment from this author.

Carol's review left me with little to comment on regards story line, But I think Peggy is a wonderful writer that knows how to discribe a setting that draws you in and makes you feel you are there. She left me wishing I knew more not only of her characters future, but also of my Indian heritage.

Peggy imparts knowlege of the time setting, Indian habits, fur traders, medicine and much more without casting a feel that you are reading a history book, rather you are in the time right along with Aimie.

Before Aimie can accept the reality of Daniel she has to accept her own reality - she really is 200 years in the past. Aimie and Daniel's journey to love and his acceptance of her true origins was interresting, frustrating and addictive. A point comes when Aimie also has a life altering choice - life in her time without Daniel or a life without the so called advantages of modern life, such as medical care for a possible future family, but the love of the right man for her.

I love time travel stories and Peggy makes it a believable happening. For me, my fantacy reading has to "feel" real and Peggy has that knack. I rate her right up there with Marlys Millhiser's "The Mirror."

I'm lucky enough to be reading the second installment, "Yellowstone Redemption" and so far it is as appealing as "Yellowstone Heart Song" and answers my curiousity about Aimie and Daniel, while drawing me into the new characters. And no I'm not going to tell you who they are, but stay tuned for thier appearance.

I loved this book! It had me holding my breath, crying, laughing and I couldn't put it down. I am sorry it has ended. This book is so exciting and I love the ups and downs relationship of Daniel and Aimee.
I think there should be a future book of Jana and Dan.
Great read!
