Book Description

Book 1 in the Yellowstone Romance Series
(2nd Edition)
"I am not good with words, but you make my heart sing, Aimee..."

Nurse and avid backpacker Aimee Donovan is offered the opportunity of a lifetime. She encounters a patient who tells her he can send her two hundred years into the past to spend three months in the rugged Yellowstone wilderness at the dawn of the mountain man era. The only requirement: she cannot tell anyone that she's from the future.

How did a white woman suddenly appear in the remote Rocky Mountain wilderness? Trapper Daniel Osborne's first instinct is to protect this mysterious and unconventional woman from the harsh realities of his mountains. While he fights his growing attraction to her, he is left frustrated by her lies and secrecy.

Daniel shows Aimee a side of Yellowstone she's never experienced. She is torn between her feelings for him, and exposing a secret that will destroy everything he holds as truth. As her three months come to an end, she is faced with a dilemma: return to her own time, or stay with the man who opened her eyes to a whole new world. When the decision is made for her, both their lives will be changed forever.

Other titles in the Yellowstone Romance Series:

"The excitement and anticipation in this book is endless. The reader is left bursting to discover the next event as almost every page is turned. Vivid descriptions of Aimee's surroundings will transport even the least imaginative back to 1810." InD'Tale Magazine 5 Star Crowned Heart Review (Nov 2013)

One of the Best Kindle Books of 2013 --Digital Book Today

The following reviews were posted on Amazon for a bundle edition of the Yellowstone Romance Series that was available for a short time.

This is one of the best series of romance novels that I have read I suggest this to anyone who wants to read about love and family and can daydream about the areas that the book takes place in. ---Cheryl Killian

I read all 5 of the "Yellowstone Romance" Series books and loved them all. If you like adventure and romance coupled with history you will like them too. These were page turners from the very first page. I liked the time travel aspect of the books, however, if you do not like time travel books, it really doesn't distract from the story. --M. Kendrick
I found that this was one of those series that as soon as you finished one you had to start the next. Each story stands alone, but the weaving of characters through the series is great. --Jenn Cameron

Loved the background of historic Yellowstone in the series and enjoyed the relationship of all the characters --Barb H

This series has great characters and plot. They're a pleasant read. Also a nice way to learn about the history of Yellowstone National Park. --Deborah Mulford

This was a brilliant series of books that I just didn't want to end.---Susan Horsnell

About the Author

I never thought I'd be a writer, much less publish a book someday. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I guess life just had other plans for me. When my husband and I decided to start a family, vet school pretty much went out the window. I used to work with a vet who had three children while going through vet school. To this day, she is my hero. Three years ago, I began writing a story that, for whatever reason, was stuck in my head for almost a year. I have been an avid romance reader for a long time, and the idea took hold to - why not? - write my own! It has been a long and difficult journey and learning experience from my first sentence to a completed, and hopefully polished, manuscript. The story, titled Yellowstone Heart Song, is set in the Rocky Mountain region which today encompasses Yellowstone National Park. It takes place decades before the area was even known to white men, a time just after Lewis and Clark, before the mountain man era was in full swing. The story has turned into the Yellowstone Romance Series. Book 2, titled Yellowstone Redemption, was released soon after Book 1. The third, titled Yellowstone Awakening, was released on March 1st, 2012, and Yellowstone Dawn was released on April 17th. The final book in the series, is titled Yellowstone Deception, and released on July 11, 2012. My newest venture is a time travel romance series, which I am calling Second Chances. The first title, Come Home to Me, just released on October 17, 2012. I am also working on a historical romance trilogy, called the Teton Romance Trilogy. Watch for Book 1, Teton Sunrise, later this year or early in 2013. I want to send a special thank you to all my readers. Thank you for taking the time to write reviews and to email me, leave messages on my blog, and find me on facebook. I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally. My email address can be found at the back of each of my books, and I will always make the time to respond. Thank you for making my journey as a writer such an awesome experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the trip January 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the kind of book I have looked for but can rarely find. The story and characters stayed with me long after I closed the final page.

Aimee's love and curiosity for the Yellowstone area generate additional attention to a weary, hospital patient. Not only does the man provide this nurse entertaining stories, he offers her the opportunity to experience her favorite vacation spot as it was originally designed. He will send her into the past. He has no fear for her safety. His son is there. He gives her directions to his homestead and strict orders to not tell his son "when" she is from. Thinking the offer is part of the old man's charm, Aimee plays along, only to discover she is in the middle of the Yellowstone forest that is unlike any brochure she has ever seen. Bison still roam wild and Indians are not on reservations. So why is a handsome, white man perfectly at ease living among both of these natives?

Daniel can't leave a city woman to fend for herself, especially when he finds her on a cliff ledge with numerous injuries. His Indian, half brother doesn't help things when he continues to remind Daniel that by taking the woman to his home, he is agreeing to marry her.

Three months is a long time to wait to return to a world of modern conveniences. Three months alone with Daniel is worth the wait. When Aimee is forced into a decision she isn't willing to make, Daniel learns the reason for her secrets. He must now decide if he is willing to accept her deception or risk a life without her.

Yellowstone Heart Song is a book that hooked my attention from the first sentence and kept me riveted until the final word.

5.0 out of 5 stars The first step in a hopefully long serries January 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Carol's review left me with little to comment on regards story line, But I think Peggy is a wonderful writer that knows how to discribe a setting that draws you in and makes you feel you are there. She left me wishing I knew more not only of her characters future, but also of my Indian heritage.

Peggy imparts knowlege of the time setting, Indian habits, fur traders, medicine and much more without casting a feel that you are reading a history book, rather you are in the time right along with Aimie.

Before Aimie can accept the reality of Daniel she has to accept her own reality - she really is 200 years in the past. Aimie and Daniel's journey to love and his acceptance of her true origins was interresting, frustrating and addictive. A point comes when Aimie also has a life altering choice - life in her time without Daniel or a life without the so called advantages of modern life, such as medical care for a possible future family, but the love of the right man for her.

I love time travel stories and Peggy makes it a believable happening. For me, my fantacy reading has to "feel" real and Peggy has that knack. I rate her right up there with Marlys Millhiser's "The Mirror."

I'm lucky enough to be reading the second installment, "Yellowstone Redemption" and so far it is as appealing as "Yellowstone Heart Song" and answers my curiousity about Aimie and Daniel, while drawing me into the new characters. And no I'm not going to tell you who they are, but stay tuned for thier appearance.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Rare Find March 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I live near Yellowstone National Park, and so I had to read this book. I crossed my fingers hoping it would be great, but thinking it would fall short. I love time travel books and romances. This book had it all. The time travel was done in a believable way, the romance was so great, the setting beautiful and the characters were wonderful. Daniel was almost too perfect, but that's ok for a hero in my opinion.

After finishing this I had to call my daughter and have her download it TODAY. I am going to get the two other books in the series too. I hope they are as good - but then when will I get any sleep?

FYI: There is one sex scene. In movie format it would be rated PG13.

I loved this book! It had me holding my breath, crying, laughing and I couldn't put it down. I am sorry it has ended. This book is so exciting and I love the ups and downs relationship of Daniel and Aimee.
I think there should be a future book of Jana and Dan.
Great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved It!! March 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
After falling in love with Yellowstone National Park on my first visit at age 16 and enjoying it even more after each subsequent visit since, I couldn't wait to start reading Yellowstone Heart Song. Ms. Henderson has brought the beauty of this majestic landscape to life with the time travelling story of Aimee and Daniel.

Not only do we have Yellowstone National Park in a time untouched by tourism and a ruggedly, sexy alpha male mountain man, we have a fiercely independent heroine suddenly thrust 200 years in the past and left to survive in the wilderness on her own.

Some of my favorite scenes were when Aimee decides to venture out on her own to visit some of the landscapes on her own. The vivid descriptions made me feel like I was right there alongside with Aimee exploring the untamed country.

If you are looking for a time travelling adventure in a wondrous location, look no further than Yellowstone Heart Song.

Sex?
If books were given the same ratings as movies, I would probably rate these books with a PG-13 rating. There is definitely sexual tension, but they are not graphically detailed. Since this can be a subject that is open to a wide variety of opinions, I hesitate to state whether it is too much or... Read more
