Without doubt, you can find catnip toys for less money. &deity knows I've bought plenty of them. But after I saw a recommendation for these "catnip sardines" from the author of Sleight of Paw: A Magical Cats Mystery (a novel I do recommend to Cat People), I made the investment. After all, I figured, even if the catnip toys are only "okay," the tin is kind of cool.

Well, the packaging amuses me -- and certainly is fun enough to make this a worthy gift for the Staff of any cat you know. By gift standards it's a great stocking-stuffer, sure to generate a giggle. (Note to self: Remember this at Christmastime.)

However, I can assert that the catnip toys are not a gag gift as far as the cats are concerned. The toys are well-constructed; really, at this price they ought to be. And the cats have been playing with the one catnip fish I carefully extracted "just to see what they think" for several days. In fact each cat tries to lie on top of the toy, so as to prevent the other from stealing it. I haven't seen them get this worked up over a single toy in years.

If you're trying to convince yourself that this is worth the money... Go on. Get it.

We cheated and split one of these between 3 cats, but it worked out okay with no fur flying. This is too, too cool and the tin is devilishly attractive. I highly recommend this for any cat, but especially for crazy cats who like to swat 'Mr. Fishy' so hard with their little paws that 'Fishy' goes all the way under the fridge to the back wall...we are still working on that one.

My Boscoe is about 2 1/2 yrs old and loves to play. We rescued him as a stray, shortly after I had lost Bonnie, 13yrs old. I live in an apt and Boscoe has been played with by several different people as we have watched him grow. He loves to play with his fishes. I think the box is cute and when he isn't playing with them I have a neat place to keep them.

A hand-crafted cat toy, filled with catnip? Outstanding! Expensive? Yes, but kitty will love you for it. My only wish is that they had a few more in there, but perhaps they'll be reading this and make a family-size pack. VERY high-quality. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend originally bought one of these things from a local pet store. Our two cats loved it! They would roll on it, bite it, scratch it, throw it around the apartment & chase it, etc. When I went back home to visit family for holidays I brought one to my parents cats who are both much older (15 & 17 years old) than mine. I didn't know if they'd even like it because they don't really play much but they both loved it. Same as my younger cats, they'd roll on it, lick it, and carry it around the house. And last but not least, I got one for my sisters cat who is only like 2 years old and although he was bashful and wouldn't play with it while I was there my sister later sent me photos of him on his back holding it in his arms and licking it.

The only downside of this product is that they smell really strong at first but within a month or so they lose a little of their appeal. Our cats still play with them but not with that initial insanity of one fresh from the box. Anyway, awesome product that you'll enjoy watching the cats play with as much as they enjoy playing with it.

My 16 year old has not really played with toys in the past. She has seemed somewhat depressed and I've been looking for something that might entertain her a little. The "Stinkies" seemed to have done the trick. She lays on them, rubs her face on them, and occasionally bats them around and pounces on them. She appears to be happy to have them.

I got these for my two cats and they went nuts over them! So I decided to get them for my parent's cat and my brother's two kittens for Christmas. I wrapped them up and put them under the tree, and my mom's cat went under the tree-over multiple presents-found the wrapped toy and brought it out and started opening it! That's how strong the catnip smell was to her!! It was hilarious. My brother's two kittens played with theirs all Christmas morning as well.

Cat heaven! My daughter's 17 year old cat acts like a kitten with these. Yes they really do stink and cats love them.

I order from Amazon A LOT, but leave few reviews unless something really impresses me. This product is definitely one of them. I bought two sets as Christmas presents; one for my own two spoiled furballs and one for the two "grand kitties". I gave them to my daughter to take home as an early gift the other day, and they were a complete hit with the grand kitties! My daughter has a lovely, overweight orange tabby. He's a love muffin, but not very active. She sent me video of him playing with one of the catnip sardines. It was the most active I've seen him in years! He was like a kitten again...playful, chewed it incessantly and his eyes were wide as saucers. He was one happy kitty. The black grand kitty is very responsive to catnip anyway, so she was one happy camper also. My daughter refers to them "kitty crack" and I can see why. These are a cute idea and very high quality catnip. Definitely recommend!

I first bought a Yeoww! product when I was vacationing in England a couple of years ago. They sold it in a pet store just for cats. I balked at the high price (for a cat toy), but the saleslady there recommended it highly. I brought the Yellow Fish home for my cat, Obi Wan, and he went WILD for it! After a few months he finally destroyed it, but the products are made really tough. He kicked and clawed and chewed on that thing a few times a day for months. I purchased this can of "sardines" for a friend's cats, and they went wild for them, too. I don't know why they're different, but they are. However, if your cat doesn't respond to catnip, save your money. But if they do, they'll love any of the Yeoww! products. Update: We have since gotten another kitty, and she loves it, too! Their favorites are the Yellow Fish and a yellow ball.
