Misleading title and too many advertisements.,

This review is from: Yes It's Made from My Dog's Fur: An Owners Guide to Harvesting Your Pet's Coat and Spinning It into Yarn (Paperback)
"An Owners Guide to Harvesting Your Pets Coat and Spinning It into Yarn" is somewhat of a misleading title. Indeed, this pamphlet, for it cannot be called a book by any stretch of the imagination, will teach you how to harvest dog hair for spinning. But that's it. It DOES NOT teach you how to spin it into yarn. In fact, it tells you to go read a book on spinning! It does cover how to card the fur to prepare it for spinning, but the directions are far too vague to be understood by anyone who doesn't already know how to card fiber. Even the section entitled "Equipment Sources" is useless. Instead of listing suppliers of equipment, it lists other books that have sources listed in them. There's also an advertisement card stuck between the pages, and the back page is dedicated to other books you should buy on the subject. Let me save you $...Only use undercoat fibers that are 2 inches or longer and buy a different book. I just gave you every usefull tidbit in there.

Best doggone bargain on the market,

This review is from: Yes It's Made from My Dog's Fur: An Owners Guide to Harvesting Your Pet's Coat and Spinning It into Yarn (Paperback)
If you've ever thought about saving your dog's hair to eventually have something made out of it but didn't know where to start, or end, this booklet is for you. It's compact yet thorough, detailed and, best of all, easy to follow. Written by one of the nation's leading authorities on dog hair spinning, the simple, no-nonsense approach in this bargain-priced booklet is a refreshing alternative to big, expensive books.
