I LOVE this CD. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Every time it comes on in my car, I smile. McPartland is incredible...all the more amazing that she was able to be successful in her time in what was then (and is still often the case) a man's world...jazz.

This recording is one of the best of Marian Mcpartland who is one of the great ones whose style always centers on a strong melody with smooth harmonies that never leave the melody behind. Over the years her radio show has displayed the breadth of her library of the great pieces in the spirit of what is known today as the "Great American Songbook". I never grow tired of her arrangements where I can always find something new even after listening to a piece times after the first play. I have most of her recordings and long to complete my collection in the coming years.
