Awesome book!

I've been reading Vanessa's book since she first started. I still have a tee shirt she autographed which had her first book on it. I enjoy all her books, which left me wanting for more.

Yesterday's Promise was special for me, because it really hit home. I know it is fiction, but Yesterday's Promise really ministered to me and has me wanting to read it again. It ministered to me about forgiveness, past hurts and broken promises. You can feel God's word is in this book and his healing hand also.

This book is refreshing, enjoyable, you can feel the pain and the healing!

Hat's off to you Vanessa. Let God continue to use you.

Francine

I was really pleased with this book. This is a new author for me and she definitely has a wonderful talent of writing for God, and spreading His message. Vanessa Miller really captured my heart with the characters she turned out in this book. I immediately felt a pull to Melinda and her struggles, and as I read on, sweet Brianna came into the picture and I felt another immediate pull to her, too. The messages that Ms. Miller sends through this book, of relying on God, of letting go, forgiving the past, and second chances, is just truly amazing. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone, but especially to those of you out there who need a gentle reminder that it's okay to forgive, and move on, and to even find a second chance at happiness and rely on God. A most definite 5 star book and author! Well done!

I'm a fan of Vanessa Miller's novels and when I heard she had a new book out, I had to read it. Being a PK (Pastor's Kid) I could relate a lot to Melinda Johnson in the book. I love reading books where I feel I'm actually a character in the book, and with this book I was. I highly recommend this book and all of Vanessa's books, because they are worth the money and your time!!! Can't wait to the sequel!!!!

I am an avid reader of Vanessa Miller's books. Yesterday's Promise rates right up at the top along with her other books. The story of Melinda's struggle to be accepted in ministry that is dominated by males and her inability to forgive is a story that most people can identify with.

As a woman in ministry, I was reminded that God's words does not return void. If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

The characters of Yesterday's Promise will melt your heart... Definitely a must read novel.

I was slightly disappointed in this book, since being introduced to this absolutely amazing author in my opinion I thought this one lacked the powerful lesson that the other books delivered. I was able to predict from the beginning that this one would end up as it did. I know the author is a minister herself but I being a woman of GOD" do believe that man and women have distinct places and any thing with the art of word manipulation can be interperted in any way to reflect the person view that is telling the story at that time.. Personally I would have like to have seen more of an biblical argument from both sides to support and unsupport the question. I still enjoyed the book but, I thought it lacked the depth that I have come to appreciate from Ms Miller.

Can one woman fulfill her dream and still be granted the love of her heart?
I have never read a story where a woman wanted to be a preacher. I started the book a bit apprehensive. I am very conservative and wasn't sure how the author would write the story and convince me, without making me feel I was going against my beliefs.
I was pleased. Melinda starts out a determined woman. A woman determined to serve the Lord as a minister for Him. Her main focus, the pulpit. What I enjoyed the most about this story was the growing that Melinda did. She started out proclaiming that she was doing God's will, but it was really her agenda to prove her past love interest wrong.
The changes she made were real and convincing. To avoid spoilers I won't say what they are, just that I was pleased when I finished the novel- even with a decision I wouldn't have made- it was obviously right for Melinda. There is a great deal of gospel and faith in the novel, so it is definitely for the reader who will enjoy reading about a character's deep faith journey- which I did.
There was a love story and a multitude of challenges that added depth to the story. All in all, I enjoyed the novel and was glad I had the chance to read it.
Thanks for the author for my copy to influence. I received no compensation for this review.
