5.0 out of 5 stars GORGEOUS MUSIC, April 28, 2005
This review is from: Yesterdays: Stan Getz Plays Standards (Audio CD)
This record is a collection of standards from 1949 to 1952 played by Stan Getz in his early prime. Although the recording could be better the playing and selection of songs is magical. Their is no doubt that Getz left his own mark on any standard he played. My favourites are "Too Marvellous for Words", "Yesterdays", "Autumn Leaves", "The Song is You" and "You Go to My Head", but I emphasise that nearly all 26 songs are lovely. This record is a great companion to the 1952 classic Getz album titled "Stan Getz Plays". This is gorgeous music! Four and a half stars.
