A quirky watch
on December 28, 2012
I purchased one from a different source; it has a black anodized face and black rubber wrist band. Other than these, it has the identical design and electronic.
The seller in Amazon put some efforts to produce a much better instruction manual. The instruction manual I got was horrible - I could not understand either Chinese or English; but I figured out any way - actually, the time/date adjustment is very straight forward after a couple of trial-and-errors.
The red hands on the watch do NOT move; they are painted as part of the "art work."
There are 2 ways to tell the time: (1) push the top button ("button A" as shown in the instruction manual) and it will light up for about 2 seconds, or (2) it will light up every 5 (default) minutes for about 2 seconds. It would be nice if the time lights up constantly. I guess this is the only way to conserve battery power, since the LEDs use significantly more power than, say, quartz movement.
Workmanship is okay based on the price; the watch metal surface is not well polished. The rubber wrist band is a little bit stiff than my liking.
This watch will be a conversation piece for sure. However, I prefer a watch that tells time constantly without a "secondary operation" (push a button). Since I have just owned the watch for about a week, I have no idea about its durability.
