Everyone loved her, but she still wound up dead,

This review is from: Yet she must die (A Rinehart suspense novel) (Hardcover)
Antony Maitland is involved in another murder case, this time at the request of friend and fellow lawyer Vera Langhorne. Her client is accused of murdering his wife so he could marry another woman. But the accused, writer Jeremy Skelton, claims that he was called from the house by a telephone call, asking him to meet a friend. The friend denies making the call. Sound familiar? It should - it shares most of the characteristics with the Wallace case, and Jeremy just happens to be writing a book on the subject.I enjoy the characters in this one, but I felt it lacked some of the punch of her other books, mainly because Maitland himself was not acting in the courtroom, but his uncle, Sir Nicholas Maitland was this time. Still, worth a read.
