An objective resource for alternative cancer therapy,

Dr. Chan and Dr. Halpern have presented an excellent case for keeping an open mind when confronted with alternative therapies in the treatment of various cancers. Their treatise is a dispassionate assessment of conventional therapy combined with a comprehensive overview of the relevant immunology. Their thesis that time-honored Chinese remedies, especially extracts derived from various mushrooms, are or could be useful in neoplastic disorders certainly echoes the western history of pharmacotherapeutics re: plant derivatives, i.e. digitalis, belladonna, various alkaloids to name only a few. They make no promises. Furthermore, the writing is concise and literate.
