If Petro-Loukas Halkias is today's top clarinet player in Greece, Yorgos Mangas is the most popular. Getting advantage of the gipsy tradition and playing easy - to - listen rhythms, like the spring, he is the best selling folk musician in my country. This release is a good way to get in touch with the greek traditional music. But if you aren't a beginner with this kind of music, look out for something else.
P/S: If he ever plays in your city, don't miss his show! Yorgos Mangas is for our folk music what David Bowie was in the 70's for r'n'r. Unbelievable!
