5.0 out of 5 stars Good
This video is pretty damn fine, giving a good representaton of Yngwie's career. Nice to see the live video's and the pre-recorded ones as well.

Good for new Yngwie fans, although the video does miss out some of his finest work. END

Just like the audio equivalent the YM Collection video is a cash in job by his old record label and as such doesn't have a great vibe. However the fact is that a number of the songs here are great. All the promo videos by Yngwie are here, some of them are good while others are fairly lacklustre or induce a bit of squirming, being products of their time (let's face it - video clips date really fast).

Having said that there are a range of things in this releases favour apart from some great songs. First the chronological sequencing of the tracks is a great idea. It allows you to chart the progression of his music and attitudes. In addition this release is probably the only place many of his fans got to see the footage from the Live '85 video release which wasn't exactly easy to get a hold of even back in the 80's. All up we get three tunes from that release, followed by the video clips for You Don't Remember, I'll Never Forget and Heaven Tonight, the latter a faux live video anyway. Then there are some numbers from the Live in Leningrad video release and finally the three clips for the singles on his Eclipse album, the last he did for Polydor.

Incidentally, anybody wanting to know why so few of the songs here are actual video clip style deals is that Polydor would only support one single from his albums - a really strange thing when you consider how well Heaven Tonight did. You'd think that they'd of stumped up some cash to put out another single from the Odyssey album given it was his biggest seller to date.

Anyway, if you want a concise opinion - get this if your a fan of 80's hard rock/metal. Or a shred guitar dude. Or a lapsed Yngwie fan. But look for it on DVD because they're not exactly making VHS tapes for sale anymore! And in terms of the videos - the good: Bedroom Eyes, Liar and Queen In Love and the bad: Deja Vu. The rest aren't ugly, just there. Fans will get it, non fans won't. And there aren't any interviews or behind the scenes stuff here

This was a great video, everything you would hope to see. But there are also some music videos that really suck (around 4 or 5).Take my advice! Fast forward when the music videos come on.
