Para mí, el mejor disco de este caballero, con muchos años de música a sus espaldas.

Tiene gusto y buen hacer con las canciones, las mima, y salen preciosas. Divertido, bien hecho,... Tu mismo.

Compay Segundo's "Yo Vengo Aqui" was recorded the year before the Buena Vista Social Club breakthrough, in November of 1995. Many of the songs that would become famous appear here in earlier versions, most notably "Chan Chan" and "Macusa." The sound quality and performances are excellent (unlike on the compilation Hey Caramba -- see my review), and by establishing himself with solid recordings such as this one, you can see why the Wim Wenders documentary begins featuring Compay. He was a total star before Buena Vista, and that disc just allowed him to supernova -- Compay lo tiene!
