This review is from: The Yod Book: Including a Complete Discussion of Unaspected Planets (Paperback)
This book gives the reader a complete, thorough, and clear understanding of the Yod configuration. More importantly, it gives a clear understanding of planets without aspects, (a much more common phenomenon in a chart) which I have not found in any other book. It is simply written, fully detailed and exemplified, and therefore very easy to understand.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN ESSENTIAL SEARCH, July 20, 2002
This review is from: The Yod Book: Including a Complete Discussion of Unaspected Planets (Paperback)
This book provides a missing item found and portrayed to the best of its use in the feild of Astrology. Hither to the main stess was on Major Aspects like TRINE,SEXTILE,OPPOSITION,SQUARE & CONJUNCTION AND SEMI-SQUARE,SESQUI-QUADRATE, are also considered. But there was no clear attempt to explain about 150degrees, which is very common in all types of evaluation of the chart. Now KAREN HAMAKER-ZONDAG took all pains to illustrate the this aspect of YOD 150 degrees AND 30 degrees in its similarity. And it is explained in a very impressive way. It is a must to every astrologer. The beginner can start with a clear view and an experienced professional can make his analysis more indicating. I appreciate the work of Authors.

The author knows well the subject, gives the reader a complete, thorough, and clear understanding of the Yod configuration.
it is difficult to find good books on the subject and more generally on astrology which bring a new way of looking at a chart, i suggest also 2 authors Alexander Ruperti, and Robert Hand excellent book " planets in transit"

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended, October 10, 2007

This review is from: The Yod Book: Including a Complete Discussion of Unaspected Planets (Paperback)
This is the first book by this author [Karen Hamaker-Zondag] that I've had the good fortune to find and purchase. I can't recommend this book highly enough [as well as the 3 other titles by her that we've purchased since obtaining The Yod Book]. Her explanations are clear and easy to understand; she gives excellent foundational theory background information [both psychological and astrological]; her ability to connect Jungian principles to astrological principles is incredibly helpful and her case studies add extra "flavor" and more clearly demonstrate her points for greater comprehension. An excellent book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Got a Yod, Read this Book, November 5, 2010

This review is from: The Yod Book: Including a Complete Discussion of Unaspected Planets (Paperback)
This book is a careful, through examination of both a yod aspect pattern as well as the effects of a wholly unaspected planet. I highly recommend it as such.

Other books place no great significance on yods, and do not explore them in depth. In contrast, this book does explore it in depth. First, noting that the configuration itself mixes 3 widely differing energies. Second, it explores the internal experience of those with yods (myself included). The author's description resonates with my experience, and I see it as well in a significant other.

In particular, there is a sort of vague insecurity than can't be pinpointed. So, there is a doubt about one's real capabilities and a reluctance to attempt action -- even when objectively a person is VERY capable. A similar experience afflicts those with unaspected planets.

The book discusses ways to work around the negative effects of a yod, and highlights the very positive things a yod provides to one's life as well.

If you wish to fully understand the implications of a yod, whether in a natal chart or by progression, transit or synastry, this is an excellent book to help.
