The book explains the relationship between Yoga and Astral Projection. It discusses why it is helpful for Yoga practitioners to undertand spiritual experiences such as; astral projection, clairvoyance, etc., and that it is an important part of the Yogic Journey. The book gives detailed instruction on Yogic practices to experience astral projection towards expansion of one's consciousness to the inner planes of reality and ultimately to the yogic goal of cosmic consciousness or samadhi.

About the Author
Jill Lowy was initiated into the Hermetic and esoteric arts in 1980. She has a Master's Degree in Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School and a Master's of Psychology from IIT. She has been practicing and teaching Kriya Yoga and Astral Projection for many years. She currently resides in Denver, Colorado.

I am a Yogi, Mystic and Hermetic. I was initiated into Kriya Yoga and studied the mystical arts at Lotus Temple. I also have a Master's Degree in Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School. I have written three books: Yoga and The Art of Astral Projection; To Jill, With Love, Memoirs of a Modern Day Mystic and most recently, Mystical Pearls of Wisdom. I have taught many classes in mysticism at community colleges, bookstores and festivals. I love nature and enjoy hiking in the woods, practicing Tai Chi and motorcycle riding. I live in Colorado where I enjoy the beauty and splendor of the Rocky Mountains.

Wow! What an important and enjoyable read. The Author goes beyond making a meaningful and joyous connection between what would seem to be two unrelated disciplines, Yoga and Astral Projection, and uses her explorations to coherently explain her view of the universal Cosmology. Her journey spans Hermetic philosophy, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, Gnosticism, Yogananda, Christian teachings, Astrology, Chakra energy, the Bhagavad-Gita, to dozens of other references, creating a wonderful guide for all of us who journey inward to find the Devine self. Ms. Lowy's coherent and accessible outline of the four planes of consciousness is the easiest to understand that I have yet to read.
The song of the universe is heard in a unique way in this freely flowing tapestry, which I can see is only a small part of her experience and depth of knowledge. Her tone is positive and openly hopeful, without being dogmatic. If you are a student of Yoga, or just one who is looking to expand their awareness and consciousness, this is a book that will resonate through your mind for a long time to come. Engendering feeling of subtle joy that bubble up to one's waking state by simply casting a thought the reading. Ms. Lowy's finely honed and compassionately intelligent work is a must have. It is rare to find a work that can exhibit both incredible depth and simplicity of form. She has provided another point of light to this world. A smile to touch upon again and again.
