Another great workout from Ana Brett and Ravi Singh! I enjoy these workouts so much that I now own all of them! As with all of their DVD's, the instructions are clear, the music is great, and Ana does a flawless job of demonstrating each pose.
One thing I particularly like about this DVD is the pre-set feature. There are 20, 30, 40, and 45 minute presets routines so you can gear your workout to the amount of time you have. These are very convenient when my time is limited but I still want to do something good for myself. I have noticed that my hips feel released and relaxed after this workout. In addition, it always puts me in a great mood. Lots of fun and definitely recommended!

That's quite a claim to make, I know, but I did this set this morning, putting aside my usual Yoga Beauty Body or Ultimate Stretch, both of which are amazing. But knowing that the hips relate to moving forward in life and finding myself in one of those positions in life where you have to leap into something new without a net, I figured this would be an interesting experiment. I've been wavering between feeling fearful of not knowing what's ahead and trusting in the flow. Doing this set when I woke up today put me deeply into the state of being of trust, flow and balance.
I've seen others mention that they were a tad disappointed that there aren't more specific hip openers on this DVD, and I can certainly see that as a valid comment. However, the hip openers they do include at the beginning are deep and very powerful. I love the flow of this class and the meditation to still the mind at the end is wonderful. Right now I am doing a 40 day sadhana and I've decided to use this as my a.m. yoga set and Yoga Beauty Body as my p.m. set...let's see what happens but I can imagine it will be an experience of pure bliss. As always, Ravi and Ana are wonderful teachers; the addition of more guidance and comments from Ana is quite welcome, they compliment one another well. And as a BIG fan of the magic of cat/cow, especially done upon waking, I loved the lengthy cat/cow series in this. Plus, keep in mind that doing the hip openers at the beginning of the set completely changes how open you are for the rest of the class, whether you are conscious of it or not. The flow and progression here is lovely. Left me feeling peaceful, dreamy but grounded, and far more confident and calm than when I began. This will be a valuable tool for me during a time of great change and much that is still unknown!

It's great. I'm new at yoga. I find it easy to follow and it helps me in many ways. I'm an almost 40 woman who has been doing martial arts, but had to stop as I've been stricken with something like unto MS... Lots of hip pain and trouble walking, anxiey and depression. This tape, and others of Ana Brett & Ravi singh are giving me my life back! The pain is greatly reduced, my back is flexible and many other aches and pains are also reduced. I've lost weight steadily, and am finding I can handle about 100 times more stress than before. I'm very centered. I'm gonna get 'em all!!

This is a wonderful workout/yoga experience. I didn't know what "releasing my hips" meant, or that I needed my hips released, but once you do Yoga Bliss Hips you'll understand what everyone is raving about! After doing this just once I already noticed that my gait was looser as I walked, I wasn't so "pent up". As my title suggests, somewhere along the way I stopped walking like a lady (swinging down the street so fancy free) and started walking more like a guy, moving my legs and hips just enough to get me where I was going, head down, full steam ahead. Now it's once again chest up and hips swinging, just like God intended! I also stand taller and just really get a great workout from this one (I have lots, they're all great, my personal favorites are Fat Free Yoga and this one).
This is fun, easy to follow, effective, interesting, and inspirational. It has truly changed my life. Upon doing this for the first time and really listening to Ravi's words, I was blissful, yes - from the words and all that great breathing and stretching - but I was also motivated to take steps in my life that needed to be taken. Scary stuff, stuff that brings forth all the doubts about yourself and the situation at hand, but this video helped me transcend the doubts and empowered me to do what needed to be done. I use it every time I'm feeling unsure or just in need of another shot of confidence, and it really works! I get right up when the video is over and take care of business. And I must mention that this one, just like all the others I've tried (Fat Free Yoga, Beginners and Beyond, AM/PM, Ultimate Stretch, Yoga Quick Fixes) will give you strength, energy and endurance beyond your wildest dreams. I used to think I needed walking or running or other miserable cardio exercises to gain endurance and lung capacity, but Kundalini Yoga with Ravi and Ana is the only thing I need. I was running around the yard with the kids within a day or two of doing Kundalini yoga the first time, and it only gets better. You'll feel like a kid again, moving is fun again. Like an athlete or a dancer. Plus, my arms and abs have never been stronger since starting Ravi & Ana's yoga. I have always had very wimpy stomach muscles, but no more! (The abs/arms thing doesn't apply specifically to Bliss Hips - although the tummy and arm exercises in Bliss Hips, I can tell, would give the same result if that was the ONLY video I used). I no longer feel the need for my Bowflex. It was uncomfortable, time consuming, painful, and didn't do what the combined strength/cardio of these Kundalini Yoga vids do for my abs and arms! Add to that the decreased desire for gobbling everything in sight, and especially stuff like chocolate, sweets, etc. It really works on your internal systems and straightens everything out. I am positive this is just the ticket for someone who is trying to stop smoking! My kids like to join in with me when I do these videos, too. My little 7-year-old daughter was blessed from birth with unbelievable sinewy muscle, but she is incredibly inflexible, it hurts her just to sit on the floor with her legs extended out in front of her. But as we do the stretching exercises from these videos, she is thrilled to see herself finally gaining some flexibility, and this isn't over time, it's immediate, she can stretch longer and farther with Ravi and Ana's techniques, and her little face was so happy. With Yoga Bliss Hips, one of the coolest things is near the end, where you get to punch punch punch, working your arms while getting out worries, frustrations, anger, resentments! Buy this video!

I loved this DVD, it's one of the few where you actually can feel something happening as you do the exercises. They are true Kundalini masters...it took me on a journey. This DVD is for people looking for a deeper connection to themselves and source. You can really feel the energy move!!

I have 5 DVDs by Ana and Ravi and am a big fan. I rotate and do them a few times a week, mixed in with my other workout routines. I find this DVD, which I now have done in one sitting from start to finish, a more mellow one than the others. My favorite still is the Fat Free Yoga which is by far one of the best DVDs by the couple, a second favorite which is a close tie is the Warrior Workout. This DVD is very relaxing for the hips and I would rate it as a moderate workout, best to follow a cardio or for more mellow days, and may work better in evenings than mornings.

I see other reviewers are also busy purchasing the entire collection of Ana & Ravis DVD's. They are that excellent that once you try one - you will want them all! I always, always have a sense of utter well-being when I finish a kundalini yoga set with these two. Something about the combo of postures, breathwork, mudras and mantra seems to work on a levels for me that other yoga systems just don't. This workout involve a sequence of poses, building from one to the other in a calm, relaxed manner to improve strength and flexibility in the legs and hips. The second half involves the core, upper body, and a deep release on the emotional level.
The pre-sets are an awesome addition. Sometimes I just do the hip set after the gym to release my hips and I am set. I love this type of yoga! The energy and sense of well being I get from all the breath of fire keeps me craving more, more, more!!

I love Yoga Bliss Hips! Every time I do this one, I feel relaxed and happy. The Hip Opening session others call shortish but it is just long enough for me:)! I feel my hips melt open during the held poses with" breath of fire."
I also love the things they talk about. Ravi does most the instruction on this one. Ana does all the demonstration. Ana talks about the hips relating to moving forward in life and coincidence or not, I find I am actually moving forward in my personal life in amazing ways since I have started doing this one regularly Not too sound like some tacky testimonial... Ana & Ravis workouts have opened my body, mind, and soul like I never thought possible!

I was very exercise resistant but after buying my first Ana & Ravi DVD I was hooked! I felt incredible. I felt like I had become an "exercise person" in 60 minutes! Since then I have gone on to live my dreams of being a yoga instructor and belly dancer. I owe this all the Ana & Ravi!
I was so excited to get their 3 new DVD's I could not wait to try them. I have done them all and every one of them is a winner. This one works on hips and moods. I love the way it works to loosen up the spine. It loosened up my tight hamstrings and hips nicely. It is very complete as a workout and I love that it focuses on bliss! I began this one feeling sleepy and cranky and felt blissful and energized when it was over. I think this would be enjoyable for everyone.

I Can Move!,

The first 2 videos I ordered were Kundalini Yoga for Beginners and Beyond, and Fat Free Yoga. When ever I had to lay flat on the floor, I had to bend my knees or I'd feel pain. And "Rock and Roll" just wasn't happening.
See, ever since I was in a car accident in 2007, my pelvis will sort of lock up on me. So laying flat on the floor would not only be uncomfortable, but to get up, I'd have to roll onto my stomach, and then get up because my pelvis just wouldn't let me bend. Obviously I wasn't capable to grabbing my knees from laying position and roll on my spine. So then Bliss Hips came in the mail. I'm not even kidding, I never even finished the whole video yet, but after just about 20 or so minutes into the video, I was better! Now even if I'm certain I can't do something, I give it a shot. It was time to rock on my spine, and "Oh my god! I'm Doing it!" I wasn't exactly able to make it all the way with my feet touching the floor on my way up, but still, it was amazing to me. I was also able to lay flat on the floor with minimal discomfort. That was almost 2 weeks ago. My 5 year old and I have been sick for a week, and then he had spring break. So today was my first time I really got to do some Kundalini. Guess what? I can touch the floor with my feet on the way up now! No problem. I can't help but grin like a baby taking her first steps whenever I rock on my spine. :) I'm also now able to lay completely flat on a hard floor with no pain what-so-ever. I love it. |
