A Very Good and Challenging Sequence! Warm room recomended.,
By
This review is from: Yoga Challenge® I (DVD)
This is a very good DVD and I would recommend to anyone who has done Bikram Yoga. The sequence and poses are different than Bikram, but very similar style. Slow, Hatha Yoga and three different levels shown. Tony Sanchez is in great shape and shows the advanced level. The other two are beginner and intermediate, so this can be followed by just about anyone. I would suggest however that you have a bit of experience with yoga before picking up this DVD. Also, I would recommend a very warm room similar to Bikram. I do Bikram in the studio 3-4 times a week and this and other yoga DVDs are very helpful on those days I can't make it to the studio for practice.
I wish that Amazon would carry the US Yoga Association DVDs for sale. I had to purchase off their web site at usyoga.org Also,pPlease check my other reviews on yoga and meditation products. There's some great ones available and I would highly recommend Yoga Shakti.

A Great Hatha Yoga Tape,
By Clifford "A yogic practitioner" (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Yoga Challenge® I (DVD)
I have done other types of yoga and am in reasonably good yoga physical condition. Now in my fifties, I neither have the desire nor energy to jump in and out of Down Facing Dog Pose before every other yoga pose. I've settled on Yoga Challenge I. Like the title says, it was a challenge. I tried it five years ago and found it too difficult. Recently, I took it out of the closet and did it everyday for two months (as a New Year's resolution). My sense of balance, strength, and flexibility significantly improved, compared to the same time period of doing other types of yoga. I believe the progress was greater because the tape emphasizes doing the poses with regulated breathing, relaxation, and concentrated effort (easy to say, hard to do). The tape has excellent instructions; three demonstrators do the poses in beginning and advanced positions; and the music is calm and soothing. This is the yoga tape that I want to grow old with and won't get tired of. If I ever master Yoga Challenge I, there's always Yoga Challenge II!
