I used the yoga positions in the book to help me increase my flexibility and relax my mind. Does yoga increase flexibility? That's a definite. The writing in the book is well-done and is simple to follow.....

When I go to play golf I'm definitely more relaxed and more focused because of what I learned and practiced from this book.

This book was not what I expected it to be. The photographs are small and in black and white.

Golfers, save your money! Take a good Yoga class and learn the stretches on your own. Then take a few golf lessons, just for fun!

I used the yoga positions in the book to help me increase my flexibility and relax my mind. Does yoga increase flexibility? That's a definite. The writing in the book is well-done and is simple to follow.....

When I go to play golf I'm definitely more relaxed and more focused because of what I learned and practiced from this book.

{Yoga for Golfers: A Unique Mind-Body Approach to Golf Fitness} is a must-buy for all golfers.

Remember to practice the yoga positions because not only will you become more flexible, this also can contribute to having a peaceful mind both on and off the golf course.

Another great book which made me improve at golf is
{The Ultimate Golf Instruction Guide: Key Techniques for Becoming a Zero Handicap Golfer or Better} by Leonardi
This book was a also a total breakthrough for me...I've reduced my handicap because of it.

I began teaching a yoga for golfers class at a golf-spa resort this summer. Even though I am an experienced teacher I felt I needed confirmation that the poses/sequences I offered were on par (pardon the pun). I looked at several 'yoga for golfers' books and decided this one would be good. This book is written by a person who grew up with golf and taught yoga at a spa resort herself for many, many years. What was most useful to me were the sequences in back of the book. I would study and practice her sequences, modify them and use them in my class. It was great! The book talks quite a bit about golf and has some great quotes in it. For me this book was well worth the money. It has given me the boost I needed to feel confident teaching this specific group,golfers, yoga. And I've learned a bit about the game/sport

With her brilliant correlation between yoga and golf, Katherine Roberts displays a profound understanding of both disciplines. This book is intelligently written and presented in a user-friendly fashion. I particularly enjoyed the attention to attitude and intention which are so important in any athletic endeavor, in addition to the specific techniques to improve flexibility and strength. I tremendously enjoyed reading it and immediately felt inspired.

I feel healthier and wiser after reading this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who feels ready to move their physical health and golf game to the next level. Do something nice for yourself...start this program!

Katherine Roberts' book has been a very good journey over all, for my body and my state of mind. Passionate about golf, as I am, I can appreciate her obvious love for the game, and how she has translated so much valuable experiential knowledge of how the body stretches and strengthens into a form that golfers can actually use, step by step. I highly recommend it. It's easy to follow, and to the point. The breathing and mindfulness exercises are invaluable to my short game.

I know I have problems with my swing mechanics...I take lessons, but the problems keep following me. This book and program is helping me considerably. I've discovered that the problem with my mechanics is my level of fitness and flexibility. Working with this book and the golf specific exercises, my body is finally starting to perform the mechanics my swing instructor is giving me. I can't tell you how much fun it is to launch that ball down the middle of the fairway instead of looping it into rough. Thanks Katherine!!

I'm not a golfer, but I bought this book for my father. I'm recovering from some back problems, and have been looking for a gentle way to get back into shape so that I can resume my regular exercise classes and do all the the things I love to do in the summer. This book has been an amazing help. I've done a little yoga in the past, so I have a passing familiarity with it and that's why I picked up this book. I love the way Katherine has linked the yoga poses, theory, and breathing to gaining strength and/or flexibility in specific areas of the body and for specific movements. I'm going through the chapters one at a time and using her instruction to create my own personalized shape-up program. Her explanations and the illustrations--and, in particular, the way the book is organized--make it easy for me to find poses and movements that work with the exercises my physical therapist has given me for my back. I feel a LOT better after just a month. I think I almost have a working body again!

This book is intended for any golfer, regardless of handicap, who wants to improve their game (distance, accuracy, and consistency) and their fitness to play the game without serious injury. I consider it one of the best sports and fitness books I've read. It contains a lot of excellent information, useful exercises, and is written in a very easy-to-read style. This book has helped me significantly to improve the fluidity and mechanics of my swing, relax during play, and to improve my strength, flexibility, and mental approach. Although I can't know what it will do for your handicap, I feel confident that it not only will help you reduce it but also increase your overall fitness and enjoyment of this very challenging sport.

The instructions for each of the initial poses are very poor - for someone who has never done yoga it is more confusing than helpful. For example, how does one get into the "downward facing dog pose? - all she shows is a picture of someone in the pose.

She does better further into the book but I think too many people will stop after getting confused starting off and not read on.

Her self testimonial about starting yoga years ago and going from a 24 handicap to a 16 is not an impressive endorsement. Any half competent athlete would be able to go from a 24 to a 12 with diligent practice in a few years
