Diappointing,

The description says that this is yoga to do with your baby. When I got the book it seemed like 90% of the time the baby was on the floor while mom was doing the yoga. I don't need a new book to give me that idea. I can already do yoga with my son on the floor next to me. I wanted, and thought this book would give, ideas on how to do my yoga practice with him.

I am a fitness instructor for prenatal and post partum women and I just love this book. I debated between several of the "mom-yoga" type books and I'm so glad I decided on this one. The exercises are safe, easy to follow, and wonderfully illustrated. It is even easy to follow if you are not a "yogi". My only criticism is that the binding does not lay flat so it's difficult to review the exercises during your workout. Otherwise, I recommend it for both prenatal (an entire chapter is dedicated) and postpartum women.

When my wife Sue started getting noticeably pregnant, she found Jyothi's class and it became one of the highlights of her entire pregnancy. If you're not lucky enough to live in New York and attend Jyothi's classes, this book is like bringing her into your home for a private lesson. Her voice comes through in the book, and the photos are clear (and really cute!). If any husbands are reading this, give Yoga Mama, Buddha Baby as a gift to your wife--she will be in a great mood for all nine months!

I really enjoyed this book. Not only is it clearly written, well-photographed and a good size but it proved inspirational. Being a yoga novice did not prevent me from trying some of the even more complex positions as the text is intuitive and the photographs are easy to follow.
Although most of the yoga is geared for mom there is plenty of material for your baby too - the last review seems to have missed the subtitle of "The yoga workout for new moms". How much can you expect a baby to do? Downward dog? I think not!!

this book is wonderful and easy to follow. i actually took classes with jyothi in person and her wonderful way with moms and babies is really brought out in this book.prenatal and yoga with baby is a great way for mom to relax and stretch out in a time when you ache all the time.

I am a prenatal and postpartum yoga instructor. I did my post partum training with Jyothi Larson. She is amazing. This book is a must have for all new mothers. It has 10 minute yoga session to 30 minute yoga sessions to help you bond with your baby. Amazing book written by an amazing yogini.

This is one of a very few books that has simple excersises, done with your baby, and illustrated with clear and beautiful photos of moms actually doing this! If you need a mommy and me yoga book, buy this and you won't need any others!

I bought this book thinking it would have ways to do yoga with your baby (moves for us both). That is not what it has! It basically tells you different ways to involve your baby in your routine, but they are neither clever nor fun for the little one. If it had more moves that your infant could actually do that would be good.

Skip this book - I expected to learn poses I could do with my daughter - not with her just lying next to me on a blanket. The pictures are boring and in black and white. The poses are not demonstrated correctly. Perhaps this book would be ok if the reader had never done yoga before. If you've ever practiced yoga, even just once, you will not get anything out of this book.
