Basic Yoga begins with a simple meditation to calm your mind and expand your awareness of breath. This is followed by seated warm-up stretches to begin to open your body and synchronize your breath followed by an active phase during which you'll learn the basic poses that serve as the foundation for all yoga methods including twists, balancing and flowing poses. Finally check in with your body as you cool down and reward yourself with a period of relaxation and contemplation.
Power Yoga: Whole Body Workout
In this practice you will be guided through a total-body workout that helps maintain flexibility and suppleness while building strength and well-being. This class is challenging but modifications are always provided to allow the unique needs of different body types. You will be guided into a complete flow practice including Sun Salutations, standing poses, backbends, core work, twists, meditation and relaxation. Before beginning this routine, please be comfortable with the Basic Yoga fundamentals.
