Very few albums have ever captured my spirit as this one. The music is exquisitely simple, profound, elegant. It is punctuated by the measured, unhurried, rhythmic breathing of the player and silences are integral to the music. I am taken to bamboo forests, peaceful ponds, quiet sunrises.

There is no mixing, revving, looping, no echoing or any other tech sound devices. No amping, no synthesizer or anything new-agey or fusion. Just the wooden flute with its unique antique sound, as it's been played and heard for centuries to send listeners into hypnotic trances of devotion.

The effect is absolutely arresting, entrancing. It sends me every time into a space of quite introspection perfect for meditation; I drop into my body, into my soul, into a space solely inhabited by me, and God. The music has no drama, no story, no emotional trappings. It's entrained with nature, serene, its mysticism in harmony with Earth and the elements.

What more can I say? Riley Lee's music stands alone in a place of honor in my music collection. I use it frequently in a meditation group I run and it always, every time, has the same soothing effect on the participants. It is a joy to listed, I am honored that I get to listen to it! There really isn't anything like it, so elegant, so balanced, so real. I could not recommend it any higher. Perfect for any mindful activity, bodywork, energy work, healing.
