Product Description

Gentle stretching exercises for vitality, strength and flexibility for Beginners, Baby Boomers and Seniors.

Especially for seniors and less flexible beginners over 50, these gentle stretching exercises inspire and support increased vitality, strength and flexibility.

This flowing yoga class features an inspirational class of students ranging in age from 45 to 82! Guided by Susan's soothing voice and accompanied by relaxing music, this is a motivational video will inspire mature yoga students to achieve a stronger body and more peaceful mind.

Susan teaches a flowing sequence of poses that are linked together. This allows the body to move gently into the poses and smoothly transition from one pose to the next. A common comment after one of Susan s classes is "I never thought I could do that!"

Yoga for the Young at Heart is the first of three videos in Susan's Basic Series. We recommend that beginners start with this video. As you progress with your practice, comfortably and at your own pace, all three videos in this series can be used interchangeably for a variety of classes in your ongoing yoga practice. Let Yoga for the Young at Heart guide you into a more flexible body.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended for anyone interested in stretching/yoga!, March 6, 1999
By A Customer
I am an Occupational and Massage therapist, and feel that this is one of the best videos anyone could purchase for themselves. As with any stretching video or program, consult with your physician or therapist if you have specific back trouble. Otherwise, the stretches, breathing and basic yoga techniques are excellent for any age individual, and yield greater flexibility, relief from stress and relief from muscle pain/tightness than any other video I have tried. I recommend it to all my clients!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for beginning yoga, August 27, 2008

I was looking for a yoga program my 68-year-old mother could start. She has balance issues and, like most of us, needs work on flexibility and strength. This is the perfect CD for her and for anyone beginning yoga. I'm keeping a copy to use myself (great stretching and some strengthing and balance for a 41-year old), and recommending it to my Mom.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Just for Seniors - Help yourself regain some flexibility, January 26, 1999
By A Customer
You don't have to be old to appreciate this non-intimidating Yoga video - if you have never tried Yoga and are afraid, or if you are inflexible and want to stretch out your muscles, ligaments, tendons and regain some of your range of motion, this video could help! I'm just starting a regime of stretching as I notice a certain loss of flexibility creeping into my life. This video has definitely helped. A few of the forward bends are hard on my back, but I modify as I go - which is precisely what they tell you to do in the video. Learning and practicing Yoga in the privacy of your own home is a hell of a lot better than going to a class and trying to force your body to do things it's not ready to do. Not to mention the embarrassment factor. I dig this video, and I think other people will too. Who cares, 50 years from now, if you can run 10 miles or kick box, when what you really want to be able to do is hoist yourself out of a chair. To do that, you need to keep the body stretched and flexible. End of story.
