Addictively relaxing music,
This review is from: Yoga Zone: Music for Meditation (Audio CD)
I love this CD and the other Yoga Zone CD, Music for Relaxation. My only complaint is that it seems a bit too upbeat for meditation but I love listening to it so I don't really care! But if anyone can recommend something a bit more spare for meditation (or getting to sleep, actually), I'd love to hear about it. I hope Yoga Zone, whoever they are, continue the series.

More than for Meditation,

I first wrote off this CD which made me think again. When I teach Yoga I don't want the music to dominate the sessions; that takes away the focus. After listening to Yoga for meditation, I felt this collection suited well for my kind of Yoga posture practise. As I keep the volume low, it brings in the right amount of music to my sessions. The first track - Brief Repose - wakes you up; I find it nice to start a Yoga session with this, even Sun Salutation fits in. Then it is time to start with standing postures as you get deeper into practise with the track by Tim Story (Conversation in the Rain); As your body and mind unfolds and awakens the energy within, the strings let you get deeper into your Self. The Shanti Mantra by Ravi Shankar lets one be in peace as you hold the Triangle and reflect. Espana and the Beauty Within lets you continue the stillness you achieve in an asana. It feels nice to open up to the Cobra as the Theme from in Search of Angels starts. Tibet Pt. 2 is kind of eerie for an asana or meditation; suggest do something where you don't reflect too much here. Night in the Land is a nice change of tune and pace as you beautifully hold the seated spinal twist and enjoy the energy rising and subsiding along the spine. Out of time and Threes slows your postures a bit, but this is where practise the seated bends and variations and hold still'er and longer! Angel's flight helps you enliven as you work your dorsal side. Special Place is ideal as you practise the corpse and later meditation. Before I go by Yanni helps bring everyone back to the present, and gets them on the go with a relaxed and a refreshed perspective to deal with the present. As I finish my session, I start to wonder there is an incredible number of ways you can mix the tracks with the different postures. All in all, this is a nice collection to add variety for Yoga practise.

Not A Big Fan,

I like to have natural sounds or some type of 'yoga style' music while I'm either practicing yoga or just trying to relax. This CD just didn't fit. There are a few ok 'songs' but the rest of it is either too fast/upbeat or there's too much talking/chanting. I found myself distracted when I put this CD on.

I find that this cd is very helpful in relaxing and feeling like I am "getting my head together". It may not be the greatest for yoga but I found it good for a meditation of thinking and being distracted from my own thoughts.
It took me a few times to listen to it to really appreciate it. Now, I enjoy it enough to play everyday or several times when at home. I use it to unwind.

Excellent for savasana at the end of yoga practice. I especially like the 4th song. I've been teaching yoga for 10 years and this is one of my favorites.

Never tire of this,

I've had this CD for several years. I never grow tired of listening to it. I sometimes play it during yoga, but I mostly play it as a soothing background to anything I do around the house. I've searched for other "mellow" CDs I like as much as this one -- have yet to find one.

My yoga instructor used this CD for a class one day and I had to have it. This CD is so relaxing and I enjoy having it play in the background not only when I'm practicing yoga, but when I'm reading or working or driving.

I purchased this product looking for a cd to meditate with, to relax and help with my migraines. The music changes on the cd, and I did not find it particularly conducive ot a meditation lasting 30-45 minutes. Too much variation led to me changing gears in the middle of the meditation.

This CD is perfect for Yoga and just plain meditation. I also play it in the car on my way home from work.
