5.0 out of 5 stars Yogi The Easter Bear November 16, 2004
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This is a great TV special that deserves to see the light of day on DVD. It is funny and it shows Yogi and Boo Boo at their best. It earned all kinds of awards when it first aired on Cartoon Network and deservedly so. I highly recommend it to everyone.

There is a much better reason to purchase this DVD if you are a Yogi Bear or Hanna-Barbera fan, though. Warner Home Video could be using this DVD as a test product to see if there is interest in releasing more Yogi Bear on DVD. I don't know this for a fact, but it makes sense. It is important that all Yogi fans support this release with a purchase to help see more classic H-B cartoons come to DVD.

This is an entertaining special in itself and it deserves a place on your DVD shelf. I also recommend buying it to help see more Hanna-Barbera classic cartoons come to DVD as well. This releae has a double-sided implication to it that cannot be ignored. Please buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yogi cartoon February 16, 2008
Format:DVD
A very cute film and one that brings back memories of when cartoons were simple and FAMILY worthy entertainment.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what we had hoped March 27, 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
We bought this for the kid, thinking it would be a fun holiday special with a classic character. We didn't realize it was made as recently as it was, and as such, it lacked some of the nostalgia for us. It seemed to have more zip and lack the same innocence the old Yogi cartoons had. More importantly, though, it didn't really hold our son's interest. About 10 minutes into it he was more interested in going to play with toys in the other room.

If you're a Yogi die hard, and a fan of the new movie, this may be up your alley. If you're looking for the older style nostalgic type show, pass on this and go to something like The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town, or Here Comes Peter Cottontail.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible for Young Children April 10, 2014
Format:DVD
What a disappointment. Ranger Smith mentions early on that he doesn't believe in the Easter bunny (NOT believing had previously never been a thought for my boys). Plus, per this movie, the Easter Bunny gets "real" Easter eggs from a magic chicken and the bad guy is trying to kill (through cartoonish bombs, etc) the magic Easter chicken because he sells plastic Easter eggs and wants people to buy them. So - where exactly am I supposed to get magic, non-plastic, Easter eggs this year? I was going to donate this movie to the library after 1 viewing, but why subject other kids/parents to this? I threw it away.

3.0 out of 5 stars A classic for my sister and I August 2, 2012
By Joe
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
When my sister and I were much younger, we would always watch this movie on VHS during the easter holiday. We loved watching the first 15 minutes or so of The easter duck short film. I found this on Amazon and wanted to get this movie on DVD since VHS is so out of style. As it turns out, the short 15 minute film of the easter duck wasn't on it! I was not pleased to find that out, but it still nice to know I can still watch this classic. It's not the best classic movie to watch, but it was enjoyable for my sister and I to watch on easter and to me was the best part of this movie. I didn't buy it to watch the movie, I bought this to remember my childhood and to cherrish the moments.
