5.0 out of 5 stars On a budget? Need a reliable Trigger - Get this one! December 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
At this price my expectations were low for these triggers and remote but I must admit I've been impressed every time since I got them. The range on these things are way over 250ft - and don't worry about them being in the line of sight of each other because they trigger flawlessly when placed behind multiple walls, doors, trees - almost anything. You will probably never have a practical use for the 250+ foot range but if you do - still expect these to trigger. I shoot D700 and multiple Nikon Speedlights (SB900, SB800, SB28...) and they all work perfectly.

At my office, we shoot pocket wizards but I got these for personal use - I do not see any practical difference in the way these triggers handle. At this price, you can afford to get 6, run over a few with your car, lend them out to friends and still not amass the cost of a set of pocket wizards. I'm not saying pocket wizards are bad - I'm just saying at this price, and with their great performance - these are worth a try.

Another cool function - If you have a pro/prosumer camera with a 5 pinned wired-remote port on the front of your camera body just under the flash (D200, D700, D3...) you can hook up one of the recievers to it using the cable provided, and use the trigger (which is usually on the camera hot shoe) as a remote! Go 250ft away and trigger your camera (it Autofocuses, hold it down for burst mode, you can half press it to just focus without firing a shot...) amazing right?

On the (slightly) down side, maximum sync speed is locked to 250, the trigger has no locking mechanism to secure it to the camera hotshoe (it sits firmly though so I have no fear of it sliding off, it's a bit difficult to adjust the frequency without a needle or a pin (sometimes good, sometimes bad), the trigger uses an odd battery - but it's not impossible to replace. If you get these, I recommend searching around (eBay) for the cable that connects the receiver to the PC sync port on the flash - that's the only thing that's missing from the bundle.

GET THEM! At this price you don't have much to lose - great for studio work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent budget wireless remote November 12, 2010
By T. Lair
I'm not normally a big reviewer but I felt compelled to let SB-600 owners (like myself) know that this will work on your flash as well. The flash must be hot shoe mounted to the receiver but the bottom of the receiver also contains a threaded mount for a tripod so this ended up simplifying things for me. I have used the remote fairly regularly for the past three months and have been very pleased. It functions without fail at distances up to 100 ft and probably farther but I haven't had a reason to try. The only time I have had difficulty is when the flash goes to standby and requires prodding to return to life. However, if you are looking to give a new dimension to your photographs without getting tangled in cords or shelling out big money this may be the product for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works flawlessly on my Nikon D7000 February 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
After buying and returning two CowboyStudio trigger/transmitter kits, I realized that they were complete garbage and broken right out the box. I went looking around for reliable transmitters that won't break the bank (pocketwizards), and I stumbled on these Yongnuo. After some research on some of the photography forums I frequent, the Yongnuo were highly praised by both pros and hobbyist so I ordered a kit and had it expedited. I just received them this morning and after a whole day of use, I've never experience misfires or intermittent triggers of any kind. If you are on the market for affordable radio triggers, I highly recommend these. Do yourself a favor and for the love of god, avoid the Cowboystudio and similar re-branded wireless triggers. They work flawlessly with my SB600 and Novatron VR600 strobe kit.
