seems to work good... I tested it out in the dark. it took a picture like it was daytime...it hooked right up to my NIKON D3000, with NO problem, auto...no adjustments to be made...unless I want to....

I think a comparable flash ( NIKON brand is in the hundreds!!!) I am glad I saved some money and got a good flash.

cant speak on the longevity, just got it...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great flash - worked right out of the box November 27, 2012

I loaded up 4 AA alkaline batteries, hooked it up to my D5000 (it has a metal shoe) and set it for TTL. I shot like I would shoot for a quince or a wedding. Great quality photos! Great durability! This unit beats paying 500 dollars for an original Nikon flash.
I didn't rate it a 5, because I have only had it for a month. If it lasts a year with no issues, then I will rate it a 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars A best buy for serious amateur photographers February 4, 2013

This is my second Yongnuo flash. I was pleased to try this unit on a trip to the coast where I used it indoors and out with a 18-105mm lens most of the time. The zoom worked well with my D90. I used it manually on-camera with a soft box and triggered off-camera with the built-in sensor, as well as with a wireless trigger. I got some nice images. Also, the little foot came in handy a couple of times when setting up the scene. I like the iTTL feature and the easy pushbutton setting for controlling the strength of the flash manually. The price made it affordable to buy a remote radio trigger to add to my lighting capability.
