I picked it up for the title (I live in Yonkers these days).What a great record. He's written a lot of hits but never been too big a name himself, and this record sounds like "hey, I'm ready to just do what I want" and it comes off well. Great tunes, and a great country-type band. It comes with 2 CD's with the same songs. Why? Because these songs are autobiographical and sometimes need a bit of explaining. But you'll want to hear the songs over again, and maybe not the explanations. So one is like a singer/storyteller, with song interspersed with story; the other is just the song sequence. Anyone who like Americana, this is recommended. |
