This it the only movie in existence to feature a caveman using the corpse of a giant bat as a hang-glider. Your argument is invalid.

I remember this stinker being shown at our local drive-inn theater back in the final days before it closed it for good. Unfortunately my mom wouldn't take me to see it so I had to wait until it came out on cable a few years later. But after a brief run it just seemed to disappear. If you've never seen this amazing disasterpiece, don't go in thinking you'll be blown away by Shakespearean quality acting, stunning cinematography, first class direction or top dollar production values. Film's star Reb Brown has all the warmth of an unlit fireplace log and his acting skills are equally wooden, but then again this turkey is just a Z-grade, Italian "CONAN" knock-off, so what can you honestly expect!? It rocks on its own sub-moronic level, but basically, YOR is just silly, dumb space caveman fun. It's awful, it's terrible, it's rotten beyond belief and it will make your jaw drop to the floor in stupefied wonder at the goofy goings on. In short, this movie is all kinds of AWESOME!!! I'm gonna really go out on a limb here and say that YOR is probably the single greatest intergalactic neanderthal movie ever made. (Although "Horror of the Blood Monsters" deserves an honorable mention.) And hey! how about that waaay-killer theme song?!?! You just know that Yor's the coolest caveman in the land when he gets to lope about in his fuzzy fur bikini accompanied by the thumpin' sounds of his very own theme music! Hells yes!! Viva YOR!!! There's certainly not much else like it before or since, and for my money it's a lot more breezy fun than the stuffy live-action Dolph Lundgren "He-Man" movie that stumbled onto movie screens a few years later. Sadly, there was never a sequel to YOR, although they seemed to be building up to the possibility in the film's final scenes.Read more ›

This dvd is great. Reb Brown is fantastic in this wonderfully fun scifi romp. For those who are fans of Reb, this is one of his best. The music is epic and the theme song clearly describes exactly what happens. Really fun! I recommend for anyone looking for a fun movie.

if you like films that are set in stone age times, and you like barbarians, cave girls, and then u like a sci fi element, kinda bit like spaceballs, and like other films such as starcrash and conan, and the land that time forgot. then u will enjoy yor

i saw this film when i was a young kid, and loved it, as i loved all those kind of caveman with dinosaur and space like shows.

the picture is in widescreen, and had good sound, and picture quality, the special effects were good for the time, the film is shot entirely in istanbul, kinda a weird location

As the tag says, this is not an adult's movie. This is a movie for hyperactive man-children. This movie is what some would call an anti-comedy. It wasn't ment to be, but everything about it makes the movie an unintentional spoof of Z grade fantasy movies.

We let women get away with their crappy, insipid, deluded, Twitlight movies. This is a MAN's stupid movie...because Yor is THE MAN.

Anyway, for a B movie, the production value is surprisingly ok for it's time. It's just the bat$%&! insane "plot" and characters mainstream audiences will hate (and we MEN enjoy).

Watch the movie first on youtube the whole way through to see if you like it.

The ratings on this movie are weird. It seems that most of them say it's so bad its good. It is a little slow moving at times. The line delivery is sort of stilted. The music is OK plus. The acting is quite good. The special effects are very good compared to the other parts of the movie. They are not gaudy or over-done. The premise of the story is excellent. The plot is pretty good. The end does not really follow from the rest of the movie; but it is plausible when the whole story and plot are considered. I enjoyed it; though I only half-watched parts of it when the action was moving slow. The story line is probably too simple to be a watch several times movie; but it does have its complexity. By simple, I mean that I understood what was going on throughout the movie. The movies I like to watch over and over have plots where I forget important points or the adventure or comedy make getting there as much fun as the results. I enjoyed it. I don't know if I'll watch it again in the next 5 years. Some violence; but no bad language or other family unfriendly aspects. Probably not suitable for some younger children.

Made during the low budget Barbarian film craze of the 80's mixed with elements of Star Wars rip-offs Yor is probably one of the worst movies ever made...yet it has such strange allure. I see another reviewer commented that the soundtrack quote: "is like Queen gone wrong..." LOL! So right! Is it really set in the distant past with a technologically advanced civilization living on an island? Or is it our distant future where man reverted back to barbarism? Who knows, who cares. Yor smashes his way through one dysfunctional society after another and chaos follows. The only real question any guy watching this film probably needs to answer is which cave-girl is hotter? Betty Rubble or Kala? Hmmm.
