Book Description

This book was revised and edited on March 28, 2010.

Julianne is a girl with a check list. At twenty-three she has a BA degree in Opera Composition from NYU, a gorgeous million dollar luxury condo in Murray Hill, a gift from her wealthy grandparents, a group of close girlfriends (and Joseph), and a job which she dislikes, but tolerates because the salary and hours are acceptable, and she has lots of time to make personal calls.

The only thing she’s missing is that elusive New York Catch!

When she finds her New York Catch, however, she may be forced to sacrifice a bit of her checklist to keep him interested.

If you love musical theatre, pop culture, New York City, casual sex with strangers and politically incorrect humor, you will love this book!

Amanda Hanna is a Jamaican-born, New York raised Kindle Author. She writes as a hobby and without a professional editor. Please forgive whatever spelling errors may arise. (Note: She's aware and working on correcting these errors!)

Amanda Hanna's style is primarily comical, light and leans more towards feminist ideals of female self-discovery, than the typical romantic comedy. She is also a huge advocate of the GLBT community and includes at least one GLBT character per each novel. She is a proud graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, The Kent School in Connecticut and the University of Richmond in Virginia.

5.0 out of 5 stars Words from Queen Josephine Himself September 24, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Where does one begin with The New York Catch? This is an amazing book that will have those that love NYC fall in love all over again and those that hate the place (do these people really exist) come around. This book also makes me feel young again. It is like a trip down memory lane to college, frolicking around the city without a care in the world. This is the ideal NYC romantic comedy that does not disappoint. Plus the climatic twist is one that will leave you wanting more, so much more.......hopefully we will be following Jules and Company for many years to come!

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern, Hilarious & Relatable! August 7, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is a really great read! Im so glad that I bought it. The characters are fun and entertaining. I like books where I can relate in some way to it and this book was a breath of fresh air. The main character says pretty much what is on her mind to the readers even if it is not politically incorrect at times which I like and can respect. I do not live in New York, but I love reading stories that take place there among other places. This is a good book for young women who are learning things about themselves, life and love you can really sink your teeth into this raw romantic comdey!I imagine some or all us ladies have been in situations such as Julianne it is funny to see what she does! I would recommend this to anyone who has a love of New York, finding love, finding themselves and lastly, can laugh & not take things so seriously!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, Cute, Quirky, Made Me Laugh February 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Its a good read, I'll likely buy the second book, I bought it on a whim I was bored with the book I was reading and I wanted a funny romance that didn't read like a bodice know the ones.. your mom's romance novel with Fabio on the cover. This is young, funny, made me cry, just a good time in a book and nice escape from my own boring life. It felt like talking to a girlfriend about her crazy dramatic life. Really satisfied with this, and I got in on Kindle and only paid $0.99. Definitely a good read.

I loved the fact that you felt like you were a part of many situations you could totally relate to. If only some of us could find our own New York catch....or in this case....Jamaican catch.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read!! January 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First of all I will start this by saying I knew nothing about the book or Author before purchasing on my Kindle. Since Saturday (it is only Thursday) I am now well in to the 3rd book of the series The New, New York and loving every bit of it, I just can not put it down! Amanda Hanna is a terrific author and does such a wonderful job of making you feel like you are right there in NYC with all of the characters. If you have not read these books you must do it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor, Unadulterated Fluff May 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The book is exactly what you'd expect--a young girl struggling in New York to find herself as we'll as love. I enjoyed it for what it is but there were some spelling errors that broke my ability to stay ensconced in the world.

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay read, but not strongly recommended
This book seemed more targeted to the younger audience (20-35 or so), not someone of a 'mature' age - so be aware of this when considering the purchase. Read more
