Wanted to give some laughs to a friend but after reading quite a few pages did not find anything funny. Then, past the book to another friend and did not find it funny either. Sorry!

Okay, so I know the guy....,

Having hoisted quite a few at the bar Jimmy tends (Virgil's, just off Time's Square) I can attest that this book is every bit as funny as Jimmy is in person. Having worked behind the bar for 20 years, Jimmy has heard every joke known to humankind -- tell him a punchline and he'll tell you the gag. He's a fine raconteur, a gentleman and a judge of fine bourbon, and one damn funny guy who has written one damn funny book. And, let's face it, there probably hasn't been a time since the Draft Riots that New York City has been more in need of a good laugh. So, if you're looking for a fine compendium of punch lines, you can't do better than the NYC Bartender's Joke Book.

This is a great collection of jokes, new and old. And even the old ones are presented in a lively, fresh format. The author knows how to spin a yarn, and even make the corniest puns seem funny. Yes, this is a glowing review. The only negative I can think of is that one can flip through the book all too quickly. More, please!
