If you're into jigsaw puzzles, then this is the ultimate challenge for you! I put it together in about 2 weeks, but I was at it at least 8 hours every night. The instruction manual says that the puzzle comes in two pouches of pieces, but mine was just in one big bag! This made it twice as difficult, but that's the fun of this puzzle! You definitely need a really big table to work on, and you'll spend about a day just sorting out the pieces and disgarding the "scrap" pieces with all the red dots on them. There is a secret "mini-puzzle" of about 35 pieces that is mixed in with the bag, but they stand out so much you can't miss them, even though you have over 3000 pieces to choose from. Start with this first just to get the feel of how the pieces fit, then it's onto the big kahuna! I started from the base and worked my way up, assembling all the panels. It's important to follow the instructions when it comes to "raising the city" because of the way that all the sections interlock together. The Empire State side is harder than the World Trade side, so you may want to do World Trade first. Don't be discouraged! You'll be proud with all your hard work, I promise! It's great to display and will definitely be something to strike up a conversation about!

I got this puzzle for my boyfriend last Christmas and when we got back from college we started it! It took us one month in total to finish the puzzle. The puzzle is VERY CHALLENGING. We worked every night from 6pm-1am most nights. After hours of looking at teeny tiny windows and searching for that ONE PIECE amongst 3,000+, one might lost one's mind and get frustrated very quickly, BUT DO NOT GIVE UP. This puzzle is a amazing because when it's done, it's gorgeous and it paying a fitting tribute to the twin towers and NYC!

I'm 28 years old, and it was a fantastic expirience. A tip: If you never build a 3d puzzle before, first build 2 or 3 little 3d puzzles (300 - 700 pieces), and then, buy this one!

This puzzle has taken me almost 3 months to complete. It was the most challenging puzzle I have done. As soon as the puzzle started looking like NYC I was more motivated then ever to complete it. Wonderful puzzle for peole with addictive personalities.

Beyond doubt a challenging puzzle. To start with the sheer size was a deterrent. In fact , I dared to start only after superannuation from active service.

Nevertheless, once started, it was an obsessive involvement for nearly two months, crossing hurdle one after another. The first hurdle was shorting the pieces. The base pieces were easy to separate as they looked substantially different from the tower pieces. But the shorting ease was annulled by difficulty in putting them together as most of them looked alike - Grey city roads with moving automobiles' The next stage was assembling the vertical towers- time taking but reasonably simple phase. The kick here was confusing picture coloration in the guide book. The pieces for a yellow building could be greenish or something else ' The final challenge was interlocking the towers and fixing them to the base frame - a stage requiring frequent partial knocking down of the blocks'

This puzzle is fun but a challenge. Many of the pieces look the same and there are a lot of them, some are very small. It kept me busy for a few days!!!! To those that are trying this puzzle here is my biggest suggestion that helped me finish the puzzle. Separate the puzzle up into different baggies. I usually used zip-lock bags to separate the pieces up(so you don't misplace one and you're able to separate into different sections). I would go through the pieces and put similar colors and types of pieces together. A real quick thing too, the puzzle usually has two big bags it comes in. The two bags are not necessarily the two separate sections of New York so don't rely on that. Also, you NEED the manual. Without it, building the puzzle would almost be impossible. You also need a lot of space and higher up if you have animals (mine tried to run off with the pieces several times).

This puzzle has been awesome. In the end, it looks so beautiful sitting in our living room. The puzzle might take quite a bit of time to start with when you have to sort it out. The major fun is trying to build the buildings and connect them after you have made the "walls". A must-buy for any jigsaw lover.

I love these puzzles. This is definitely the coolest one they have and the most challenging. Took a while, developed a good system, had pieces lying on my floor for weeks, but, definitely worth the investment.
