Editorial Reviews

The first of eight album projects that Braxton would complete for the Arista label between 1974 and 1980. Six pieces featuring the geometric titling unique to Braxton's work. Core unit for this release was Braxton with Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland, and Jerome Cooper (d, perc), with Richard Teitelbaum, Julius Hemphill, Oliver Lake, and Hamiet Bluiett each appearing on one track. First side is not as experimental as the second, almost as straight as Braxton's "standards" albums. According to AMG, this title has never seen a CD reissue.
