5.0 out of 5 stars NYT Sunday X-words
These volumes of NYT's Sunday crossword puzzles, edited by Will Shortz are the best. The spiral bound format with a complete puzzle on each page is perfect. Delivery time from Amazon was slower than usual. Keep track of the volume numbers so you won't re-order the same one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Puzzle Book
Been doing puzzles for about a year. Just got the New York Times (NYT) puzzle book today. This Sunday puzzle book is a gift for my uncle who has been doing puzzles since the dawn of time! I have looked at a couple of puzzles. As I can fill in some of the entries, I don't consider this the hardest puzzle book out there. Will update once my uncle has an opinion.

The New York Times Puzzles are great, they are not too hard or too easy, I love that they come on spiral. I will definitely order another.

These are witty but challenging puzzles, a lot of fun to solve.

Many of the clues are outrageous puns;that's why they are fun. I recoomend this collection.

This is great for keeping the old mind sharp and working. The puzzles are difficult but not impossible. Clues often not what they appear to be at first read so must keep the mind open to other interpretations. Fun!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Puzzle Book, December 22, 2011

NYT book is nice looking, easy to use with its spiral binding. It is larger than letter size but due to the number of entries the print is small (one puzzle per page). All in all, a nice gift.

UPDATE: It may not be the hardest puzzle book out there but my uncle has worked 2 puzzles and has had to look up some words. I worked one and had to look up 80% of the words!

UPDATE 2: My uncle has worked 6 puzzles & they are hard! Perhaps even esoteric.

This was one of several Christmas gifts to my husband. He loves difficult/expert crossword puzzles and I had searched for years for a compilation of difficult puzzles as opposed to the easy and intermediate featured in puzzle magazines. He was very pleasantly surprised and I was glad to give him a gift that he wasn't expecting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for lovers of NYT Sunday crosswords, good for memory?, July 9, 2009

Any fan of New York Times crossword puzzles would enjoy this. Not for newcomers, though. And puzzlers who prefer hardest NYT puzzles might be disappointed. Rather a lot of the puzzles are out of my range, but that's partly because I'm out of practice - and I still enjoy the challenge. Thanks to this volume, I'm now getting lots of practice. Working crosswords is supposed to be good for one's memory. If so, this book must be *very* good.

This product was just your average crossword puzzle book -- the disastrous part was that I ordered it on 3/2/10 and received it on 3/24/10. Twenty-two days for shipping and handling a stupid little puzzle book. This was outrageous service, especially in view of the cost compared to the price of the item. I won't be ordering anything more in this line from Amazon.
