The authentic MLB team name, meanwhile, is woven onto the front chest and embroidered onto the left sleeve. Best of all, the jacket is outfitted with Majestic's Cool Base system, an innovative moisture management and temperature control technology that keeps the wearer cool, dry, and comfortable. Cool Base works by drawing moisture away from the skin and up to the fabric surface, where it quickly evaporates to regulate body temperature and perspiration. Cool Base also includes specially engineered design elements that allow cool air to circulate around the body for enhanced ventilation, along with fabrics that improve performance without sacrificing range of motion or comfort. Made of 100-percent polyester ripstop, the Gamer jacket is made in the U.S. and is officially licensed by Major League Baseball.

About Majestic Athletic
The Majestic Athletic story began in the 1950s, when Mary Capobianco endeavored to open her own sewing mill. After working in the booming garment industry of Bangor, Pennsylvania, she realized she could work just as hard for herself and get much more in return. She started with women's clothing, blouses mostly. The company was called Maria Rose Fashions, and served well-dressed women from coast to coast. It was a far cry from athletic apparel, but it demanded the same attention to detail.

After learning the garment business first-hand, her son Faust Capobianco, III, followed in her footsteps. In 1976, he founded the Majestic Athletic you know today. Well, almost. The spirit was there, but the company hadn't made it to the big leagues yet. That happened in 1982, when Majestic introduced their first Major League Baseball batting practice jersey. This relationship grew in 1984 when the company signed their first MLB National Licensing Agreement, which brought fans the high-quality apparel they needed to truly show their team's colors.

Since the beginning, Majestic Athletic's philosophy has been simple: create the highest-quality athletic wear with a commitment to heritage, craftsmanship, and authenticity. And even though the company hit the big leagues, they still take time to add the hand-stitched details that got them where they are. But now they do it for every Major League Baseball club, the National Basketball Association, National Pro Fastpitch Softball, most major colleges and universities.

I was vary wary about buying a jacket on Amazon. It's something that requires pretty accurate sizing, and can leave you with poor quality and an awkward return policy. I moved across country and missed my Yankees dearly so this was an impulse buy - and a good one.

This jacket is an absolutely perfect wind breaker - which should come as no surprise from a top ranker in sports gear, Majestic. It's light and breathable. Made 100% from polyester. The inside is a well fabricated polyester mesh that is durable and keep me real cool. Also solid against the rain. An elastic band around the bottom lining and elastic cuffs at the wrists let you snug up to keep out moisture and keep it tailored. I'm a lean guy and it fits really well. Also, the stomach level "hoodie" pocket helps for additional warmth on chilly days.

The jacket boasts the classic intertwined NY (Yankee emblem) over the breast. Nice white trim on the sides compliment the emblem, but without making it too flashy. It a modest, great design with perfect-for-the-purpose material.

Unfortunately, majestic doesn't deal in bargain apparel. That said, it's a DEFINITE buy if you can get this on sale.

Although I ordered this jacket at the last minute before Christmas, it still managed to arrive before 12/25! Being that we all live in Florida, it's pretty hot and finding a jacket that's not heavy can be difficult. My soon to be step-father loved it!
