Book Description

January 1, 2011
The New Yorker's Brooklyn MiniMap shows all of Brooklyn, as well as Manhattan up to Houston St. With all the streets and subway stations shown, it's an incredibly useful map that will fold down to the size of your wallet. Lamination throughout help protect it from wear and tear in your pocket. From Williamsburg to SoHo, this map covers all the hottest parts of the city, and the small size means that there's never any reason to leave it at home. If you live in Brooklyn or Manhattan, this might be the only map you'll ever need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Map I Have Ever Used, October 19, 2005
This review is from: New Yorker's Brooklyn MiniMap (Map)
Having lived in NYC for a long time, this is without question the most useful and practical map I have come across.

Some of my favorite things about it are:
1. The overall level of detail is outstanding for a map that folds so small and covers so much area.
2. IT LAYS THE SUBWAY STOPS OVER THE STREET MAP - it's hard to over-emphasize how much this one comes in handy - shockingly, most maps of NYC do not do this.
3. It folds to a size only slightly larger than a credit card, so you can carry it with you whereever you go. The way it folds, the paper part of the map is protected by the laminated cover.
4. Because of the way it folds, you can pull it out of your pocket, unfold only one fold, quickly check the relevant portion of the map, and put it back in your pocket. This allows you to find what you need without looking like a typical "tourist" or a lost local.

I carry this map with me everywhere and end up using it all the time for unexpected things, even though I know the city very well. I cannot recommend this map more strongly.

4.0 out of 5 stars great map for those living in or visiting Brooklyn, July 17, 2006
This review is from: New Yorker's Brooklyn MiniMap (Map)
Overall this map is awesome, the only complaint I have is that the lower Manhattan subway stops are not identified by name, just blue dots, which can make navigating the financial district a little tricky, but the fact that all streets are labeled does help with this. Don't hesitate to buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Map for Brooklyn, October 29, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: New Yorker's Brooklyn MiniMap (Map)
Born and raised in Brooklyn, but I still bought this map because BK is so huge. Do you really know where Sunset Park is as well as McCaren Park? Even if so, this has it plus everything else-- subway stops, major attractions. It is an embarrassment of riches in a map. Perhaps the most bang for my buck I ever got on Amazon.

BTW, my only improvement (for the publishers) would be-- Add the direction of streets! Although, that is complicated, b/c directions change, and dead-end frequently, in BK. Maybe you can add a symbol for "too many changes to put on tiny map" (like a triangle, or pi, or somesuch) and just give the general directions otherwise.
